Ok I have really wanted to start playing LOTRO for some time now. However I have been unable to because of my computer. However, as of late my computer has decided to die and I had to order a new one. It is currently being built and should be here in about 2 weeks. Anyway, I am far from being a computer guru in any way. So I was wondering if somebody could tell me if my computer will be able to run the game. Here are my computer specs....

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz, 6M, 1333MHz FSB)
256MB ATI Radeon HD 3450 supports DVI, HDMI Connections
320GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz - 2DIMMs
Genuine Windows Vista; Home Basic, Service Pack 1

Thanks for the help.

With those specs you should be fine.

Thats a really special computer that we should all be envious of!

That is what you wanted to hear, right?

No, it really was just an honest question of whether or not I would be able to run the game. I am by no means a computer guru and as of right now on my laptop I am unable to run the game. So I was just wondering if the new one would be able to or if I shouldn't even go through the hassle of downloading the whole thing all over again on a different computer.

Sorry. That was a bit snarky.

If it was a genuine query, then yes, you should be sweet.

You should be able to run the game fine with the graphics turned down. My laptop is similarly specced and it runs well on "medium" settings.

The bottleneck is going to be in your graphics card. With only 256MB of vid-ram on a mid-range card you're not going to be able to play with the graphics turned up very high.

Then good news is that LOTRO includes an "auto-set" function that will examine your system and set up the graphics accordingly. When you install the game and begin to play just run that routine & accept the default settings and you'll be fine.

You will play around medium settings with the graphics. However, LOTRO on low settings looks better than WOW on high (if that means anything to you).
