I was looking through my wallet and found an EB gift card. I thought I had burned them all up (I'm a notorious horder of EB cards), but imagine my delight when I called their automated line and found it had 64 bucks and change left on it!

***EXCITEMENT***

But now, I have no idea what to buy!?!?

I was thinking of Scribblenauts, since I've been enjoying having my PSP out and about again, and would love some new toy for my DS.

But then, I have a tiny, tiny library for my PS3, so maybe there's some really cool game I could get for it.

And then, I could get PSN points/Wii Points and get some retro games (FFVII is seriously calling my name, but I'd need a new memory stick too ; ;).

Anyone have suggestions/recommendations?

Have you played Batman yet? Is it out for the PS3? It's a good game. Otherwise, from what I've heard Scribblenauts sounds good.

Could pick up Uncharted, or wait for Uncharted 2 (coming next week). Little Big Planet is fun too. I grabbed Gran Turismo 5 Prologue to get me pumped for the next version that should be coming soon, and I'm thinking I might have to talk my wife into getting me one of these for Christmas Smiley: drool2

I believe the PS3 came with Uncharted, to be honest I didn't check the pack-in. inFamous sucked me in too quickly, and now I've been spending time trying to figure out Sacred. I love my robot dog thing...

If they have lowered the resale price of used Little Big Planet, I might do that. However, I don't think I'd buy it new. I've seen a lot of gameplay on it and honestly can't make up my mind as to whether or not I'd like it. Part of me enjoys the idea of making my own levels, but I know that I would not bother >.>;;

I might rent Gran Turismo, haven't played a racing game in a damn long time, but from what I recall I started sucking at them the moment they got more realistic...

That game looks ******* sweet... And it's available for the PS3. I'm very tempted, but I'll download the demo first. My notebook should be able to handle it, and I have a Dual analog controller for it too.

Thanks so far for the suggestions! Gives me a little more to look at than my narrow view I had going in!

Uncharted 2 is the biggest exclusive release for the console this year. So I'd definitely get that. Batman:AA for PS3 is also the best version between the two consoles due to the exclusive content it received. It like they mixed Metroid, Splinter Cell, and the Batman franchise and game out with the best licensed game I've ever played.

If you look into getting Little Big Planet, beware that there is two versions out there, the regular one and GOTY edition. GOTY includes a number of things that were paid downloads such as the Metal Gear Solid costumes. It also includes 18 levels created by LBP fans that was picked by the developers.

Ratchet and Clank Future : A Crack in Time is out at the end of the month. God of War Collection is coming out next month. Valkyria Chronicles is a popular niche Strategy RPG from last year that many people enjoyed.

Pawke, the Batman demo actually sucks. The actual game, however, is amazing. At least for the PC... and I bet the console is just as good. I would really recommend just getting the game (or getting it for PC, but that defeats the purpose of this thread) Smiley: tongue.

Scribblenauts is fun. I don't remember what world I made it to, then got mad at it because stuff has no "weight" to them.

I was a big fan of "Where is Waldo" books when I was a kid. I even had a Sega Gen game.
The artist doodled up a new book, and there is a new game from the DS/Wii/Comp.
I found it, it is neat.

I've done that with gift cards before. Those days are good days. Because past me left present me a present, and that's pretty awesome.

Also, Brutal Legend. Get it.

Brutal Legend looks like the dude from Guitar Hero decided to go psycho and kill everything in site.

So it's definitely tempting.

I have Fallout 3 for PC, and since I hate the tank-esque feel of most first person shooters, not interested in the PS3 release. I mean, I loved Bio Shock, but then they had computer-assisted targeting.

I haven't played Uncharted, but I double checked and I have it, it was the pack in I just dropped in the drawer. I'll crack it own and have a look on my week off. Anything to end the eye strain that is Sacred 2 ; ;

Didn't play Assassin's Creed, not a lot of interest in "Stealth" games as most "Stealth" games wind up not being Stealth games at some point and instead want you to become Rambo in the end.

I've heard TONS about the entire Ratchet and Clank series, and yet have never played one. Which is odd considering those are the style of game that I truly love when it comes to action. Maybe I'll finally go and get one in this time...

... if it weren't for Batman: AA. Seems to be rather popularly mentioned here and elsewhere as a very good game. Shame the demo blows, but I guess that's better than the Mirror's Edge demo being the actual game...

Thanks one and all ^.^ My shopping will commence Oct. 16th while I'm out on other errands that day. I'll be sure to post up what I finally get and how I like it!

DJ Hero is coming out, you can get it first and be one of the "cool" kids on your block.

My favourite so far IS Little Big Planet and I do own Ratchet and Clank.. I'd suggest either one of those.

Guessing you don't like sports games, so the best game of the year (NHL10) is out of your consideration.
