So, I paid for the new Call of Duty earlier, and I was wondering who else will be picking this game up for the Xbox 360?

I know there are a few others on these boards that will be playing, and I'm hoping to find some people to play with.

My gamertag is Feyyras. Send me a friend request, and post here so we can get a big battle royale going.

Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe no one else has an Xbox. Haha.

I'd stick with computer games, but all of my RL friends play xbox.

I'm probably going to get it, just not right away. I still play Modern Warfare 1 a lot and World at War even more.

WaW was great. Got to level 45ish in about 5 days.

Then my disc got a 1/4th inch break near the middle circle and disrupted the foil about another 1/4th inch in.

Worked okay for about 3 days, now I can only play **** zombies.

Well, I picked it up for xbox. So far, it is pretty fun. I haven't done any of the missions, though.

The online play delivers, like always.

Did this come out at midnight last night by any chance? My housemates were out at midnight and this morning at 5:30 just HAD to show me the cool night-vision goggles they got the previous night.

They were pretty cool, actually.

Real night-vision goggles or in-game ones? If real, did they get them for pre-ordering the game?

Real ones. We were running around before the sun came up. They work really well for seeing, but the depth perception sucks (I felt like I was high). Also, do NOT turn on the lights with them on!

A friend on facebook said they come with the prestige version of the game ($150).

Goggles are with the Prestige Edition.

Now to the game:

I played the first 4 missions and they were great. New fresh things to do in each level, nothing feels recycled.

The new aim system is nice. If you pull your sights up fast it will snap to the nearest enemy. You can then control it all you want like normal.

I played the controversial level and lets say it felt pretty controversial. I don't want to spoil anything, but it definately made me feel wierd pulling the trigger at moments.

Multiplayer:

Hands down the best MP of any COD. The maps are beyond amazing. I played strictly TDM (150,000 playing as opposed to 1k-13k in other lobbies).

Maps are not to spread out at all. Good choke points in all of them. Also fairly easy to learn them. I already had a strong feel for a map or two after playing for only an hour.

Level of play is exact same as WaW. Your K/D ratio should be the same.

I'm pretty sure that's what you're supposed to feel as you're going through the mission.

Got it for 360 and I'm pleased with my purchase (which is a hard thing for me to do, in the last 6 years the only games I've bought are Halo 2, FFXI, Halo 3, CoDMW, Left for Dead and CoDMW2)

The Campaign was fun. Has a decent plot twist, enough savage patriotism to choke a donkey and took about 10 hours on Veteran.

Haven't tried spec-ops yet.

The multiplayer kicks *** so far. Very customizable to what you want out of each class. The perks and kill streaks are much more varied now.

All in all pretty kick ***.

Did you solo vet, and how bad was it?

If you have't played Spec-ops, and liked the Campaign do it IMMEDIATELY. It's basically all the levels from the game, plus a bunch of levels inspired by the Campaign. The twist is the levels are much more different.

One will have you manning an AC130 while providing cover for your partner on the ground.

There is another Snowmobile mission, also a Zodiak raft mission, etc.

Played about 16-20 hours of spec-ops and only a little over halfway through. Alpha-Charlie ops on Veteran are all very very fun and provide a decent challenge. Delta-Echo are pretty much insane, minus a few from Delta.

We don't have 16-20 hours on Spec-ops. Unless you're doing them with someone else.

But Teddy is right, Spec-ops is very fun/intense. It gets tough in the upper Delta and above range.

i never thought i'd be one to say that a game could go too far, but i'm really in a quandary about this. i'm not buying the "it's just art, man" argument.

Maybe 10-15, but when you think about the 15minute+ missions and us failing them like 10-15 times in a night on one, thats like 2-3 hrs wasted with no stars to show lol.

Is this game coming for PC or what?

I hate this crap with consoles taking over everything. Goddam teenagers. Went to the video game store today to see what they had and asked them if they had Prototype. The clerk just looked at me and said "Uh, for PC?" and I said "Of course" and he said "No, sorry, we don't really sell PC games anymore." This struck me as odd considering I'd reserved a copy of StarCraft 2 for when Blizzard decides to release it. Yeah, that reservation had been canceled.

Consoles can rot in hell. I'm not playing a goddam first person shooter with a @#%^ing controller.

Edit: Oh, and people will say "Buy a keyboard and mouse for it, silly" but guess what! If I wanted a console with a keyboard and mouse, I'd stick with the PC I have!

True enough

The PC market did this to itself over a long period of complexity and self-inflated worth. A company has no real interest other than altruism (haha yeah right) to provide for a market share which is known for such puritanical, vitriolic, esotericism, when simpler platforms exist as a profitable alternatives.

Doesn't really affect me: I rarely see anything on a PC I want to play.

Except PCs still are as big of a market they've always been, but store copies have pretty much disappeared due to digital download services such as Steam.

There is a PC version of CoD:MW2, but it's a poor excuse for a PC game. No dedicated servers, lack of mod support (I think), and they are charging $60 for a new copy. So not only is it a gimped version of what it should be, they decide to overcharge for a lesser product.

Cache it out however you'd like: reduces over time or stays the same while other's grow; it matters not. Consoles are comparably much more important for at which to market products, comprise more variety of games, and number of them, and much more simple for which to market due to standardization, as well.

There are precisely three genres for which a PC is undeniably superior. Only one of these (FPS) commands a significant economic interest.

This is why companies don't feel like catering to a PC market.

Why should they, when someone on a console isn't as historically fastidious about those things? You seriously expect to get a superior version of a game, for less than it sells on a console, when most people just don't care at all?

Hmm... I bought the DS version (which I know is actually a completely different game and all, but still). Kinda fun, though DS controls are awkward. Iv'e gotten a few decent multiplayer games, and am on the 3rd mission in single player.

Rather fun, considering all my previous experience with FPS has been in arcades. I would love to get some for PC (not buying a $200 to $300 console that would get only limited use) but I would really like to find some type of arcade-style gun controller for the PC (I'm much better with those).

I just got it the other day and have been playing it non-stop. It's much, much better then the first and it's extremely addictive.

Most of the time I'm playing online in Ground War and such. I'd really like to join a clan and organize stuff instead of playing with random people doing their own thing, though.

I personally don't care about multiplayer, but I loved the singleplayer in the first one (hell, in all of them).

A friend of mine bought a PS3 the other day and he's trying to sell it again now. Not only does a console cost big bucks, but the games are about $20 more expensive than PC games. And there's no regulating the settings. Let's be honest here. A video game with smoking graphics should be experienced on a rig capable of running it all. Not to mention shooter games with a controller is blasphemy. Oh, look, auto-aim! So much fun! So very realistic! It feels almost like Gears of War.
