SoM NDA LiftedFollow

Today Patience announced that the NDA has been lifted from the SoM Beta. Overall, southern Mirkwood is a well designed zone, and the changes coming to combat and the LI system are a great addition. My main problem with the expansion is the lack of character development...its practically non-existent. Other than getting 5 more levels, there are no new traits, and no new skills other than an upgrade at 62. (Which pretty much sucks for most classes, hunters and wardens don't even get an upgrade, all they get is a port) And contrary to the press release, SoM will not be coming with any class quests or new virtues.

Any questions? :)

Thanks for posting.

I'm wondering about crafted armor graphics. SM armor is almost an afterthought and is really disappointing graphically. Are there new sets, and if so how do they look?

Nomnomnomchamps.

Rolling up a man champ on Landroval at the moment =D

Combat changes are nice imo, though I haven't exactly had a lot of time to play around with them. Haven't had a chance to try out skirmishes, but the idea behind them makes me REALLY happy. Changes to LI system as well.

My Dwarf champ has been wearing the full Rift set ever since I got it.

Its still the best looking armour set in the game imo (and took months to get), and tho' some of the new stuff looks pretty nice, I dont think I'll be hanging up the Gloombane any time soon.

Looking forward to the new content and the combat changes tho' Smiley: nod
