Going back to CLW if I can ever update..Follow

Me and a friend decided to go back to CLW on EQOA after seeing some youtube videos showing 140 people in freeport and an active facebook page.

I installed the game on memory card, and setup my connection. When I click "Play" it "connects" but when it begins to update.. the bar goes a little ways across and then stops and errors out.. saying something to the effect of "errors updating, please check your internet connection settings". I've got 2 pcs, a 360, and a wii on my network that all work fine. The last time i played EQOA I had dial up. I have a static IP set for my ps2, and I can connect to FFXI on my PS2 just fine so my network adapter and internet are working.

I tried forwarding ports and even went as far as putting the ps2 in a DMZ, and still it errors out on the update. Ive tried 3 different memory cards to see if that was it.. and still I cannot update.

Anyone know what might be the cause?

I'd try plugging the modem directly into the console to see if the problem is with your router.

Its not that simple.
I have EVDO, usb card attached to laptop.. connection shared to router.

I can get online on all my pcs, xbox live, and even FFXI on the ps2.. but cannot get past "DNAS authenticating" on EQOA. I've forwarded ports and done everything I know to do. About to throw in the towel. I took my ps2 to my moms house and connected it directly to her cable modem.. and sure enough it worked like a charm. I don't get why it won't work here. Everything else I play does.

EVDO is like a internet card from a place like verizon wireless, yes? I am assuming so (I just looked it up).

So then your game is updated fully, correct? Since you did it at your mother's house.
Have you tried googling your error?

Try here. Or this. If your account is active (which I doubt) you could try also try here. From that last link, there is a post that says if you cannot post on the forums, to contact them through stuff. Here is that post.

I don't really know what else to try.

Hmm, have you tried to plug the bridged connection from the laptop directly into the ps2 instead of into your router?

I know that bridged connections do work with the game as I have done so with a vista laptop to do the same with my houses wireless connection, could tell then if the problem is the router.

If that doesn't work I would re set up the bridged connection and try again, or if you can try bridging it through a different computer.

If all else fails it could just be the fact that you are on a cellular network that is ******** it up, I know I have seen problems with a MLB online game streaming that would not let us watch the game over the cell network because it could not locate where we were in the country(so it could black us out). Not saying that's it but it could be something similar.
