Why do people hate Zelda 2 so much? Granted it wasn't the best game ever but its not really bad. I actually started playing it again couple weeks ago and only have 1 regular palace and the final one left to do. There at the end it gets kinda hard but not any harder then the end of Zelda 1 IMO.

Playing Spirit Tracks now, it's exactly like Phantom Hourglass except Zelda is more useful in this game than the fairy was in all the other games. The semi co-op mode is pretty cool; you can have Zelda possess a Phantom Knight and use her to distract another by talking to it, then you can sneak past or sneak attack it from behind.

I started playing Phantom Hourglass a bit before I went too far in this one.

It turns out the one I was thinking of earlier with repeating dungeons was Minish Cap, not Phantom Hourglass.

I don't recall a repeated dungeon in minish cap. Which one are you thinking of?

That's doubly strange as I consider minish cap as possibly the best 2D zelda

Because of the palace you have yet to do.

I honestly can't remember anymore.

I thought it was minish cap, where you just changed sizes and stuff and went through the same dungeon just different sections of it.

That is true, but it's not the same dungeon. It's just another tool for exploring them. There were 5-6 dungeons iirc.

The unfortunate thing about minish cap was that there were only 6 or so dungeons, but the overworld was huge, so most of your hearts came from pieces instead of containers.

Apparently there are only 5 dungeons in Spirit Tracks. And only containers, no heart pieces (which disappointed many people). No Heart Pieces means less content, I guess.

I started playing both Phantom Hourglass and will play Spirit Tracks afterwards. But after the first dungeon in Phantom Hourglass, I realized I need to get a DS Screen Protector or else my DS won't survive both games.

(Even though replacement Touch Screens are only like... three dollars).

It seems that most of the puzzles/tools may be based on using the microphone. The Spirit (Pan) Flute is used by simultaneously blowing into the mic while using the stylus to slide the flute to the correct note; while inventive it is also annoying as hell.

You don't say.

I'd rather spend the 35 on a used Arkham Asylum or something.

So not having heart pieces is really that bad?

It cuts down on the amount of content, because they don't have to create clever new puzzles/areas to hide them in.

Unless they create a new dungeon for every 4 that are gone, yes. The hearts are means to exploration and quests. I don't really care where they come from, but minish cap and OoT which both had 20 hearts, had comprable amounts of content to get them, even though minish cap had 5 dungeons and OoT had like 10 or something. There are always ways to make up content like this, such as magic spell collecting or something, but really the hearts are the bulk of it.
