You have to go into combatant mode and then use the radial on them.

radial? I thought it would just give me 50 perm points to my stats in the rank section. Or is that not so?

You have to be on duty (combatant or special forces) to redeem the objects for GCW points.

And if you're an officer (rank 7+), the points are subject to normal decay.
