1)Have any of you had to replace either of the screens?


I've had my DSLite for 9 months now, and my touch screen has a bad "center" about the size of a Dime. It is starting to annoy me now (it wasn't so bad when I bought it, used)..

One of my younger cousins got a DSLite for Xmas, and her top screen is junk (you can't see anything on it). I asked where the DSLite came from and was told different stories by her and her mother (the true one is one of my Aunt's friends gave it to her not knowing the condition, therefor my Aunt didn't either).

I told her I could look online and see if I could find replacement screens, I'd pay for mine and for her to pay for the other. And I have.

2)If you have, where did you get your screens (site)?

I've found a few sites, and the prices between the 2 sites is pretty big (like at one I could get 2 screens for the price of one at the other, but not so cool if both are junk >.>).

I have not had to replace the screens, but I have read up how to. It's fairly easy. I think you need a trigram ***** driver. Everyone I know who has replaced their DS Screen has ordered them through Dealextreme.com

I have ordered from this site before. It's very cheap and free shipping, but everything ships out of Hong Kong, so it takes quite a while (it took about 2 and a half weeks to receive my PSP Tool Battery).

I am pretty sure you have to order based on what DS Model you have. I don't believe the DS Lite replacements work on the original DS ("phat"). And the DSi ones won't work either.

I think there are a few listings on the site for 2-3 dollar replacement screens, but I'm sure those are knock off brands.

I'd probably order the ones labeled Genuine as well though. Even at 23 dollars, it's still cheaper than a new DS or having someone else do it.

Reading around a bit, it looks like there is a separate part for the touch screen.
