I'll probably start on the Federation side, just because I like them more.

I'd be more interested in this game if I could play as the Borg.

If it gets me an army of unstoppable killing machines and a fleet of auto regen space ships, you can call me whatever you want.

The game isn't even out yet and the Borg are already OP.

I think you can be Borg, after the game officially launches & the Beta ends.

I thought it was just the Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, and the Cardassians.

I'm sure the official site says otherwise. I'm sure they mentioned something about a new race or two, as well.

Wouldn't the Borg be rather boring though? Apart from the whole "I can own you with my fingernail" stuff, they really don't do anything interesting...

I got the Borg Auto-Regen personal shield as my pre-order bonus, and I'm going Federation just so I can design my character like Sisko.

There are a bunch of official races, and you are free to create your own after that from what I recall.

I was in for a bit, but got booted from the servers when it came time to kill some Borg in my USS Boston.

Nap time, work tonight.

In as Omegafajita.

I'm at work so I haven't had a chance to login. Are there different servers? If so, what server is everyone on?

Klingon's are not a "open" race at the start. From what I read its takes a brief time to open them up.

They are PVP centric.

Hey Omega, you should design one of your guys to look like the parrot.

And no, you don't need to buy it download, just either click on the non-preordered links, or use the torrent or installer.

Ah... so slow. Waiting for the torrent sucks.

And this file planet thing sucks. Was hoping I could start it and maybe download it faster, but I started out in position 1500, and am now in position 3300... not much of a "line" if I always stay at the back.

TirithRR install the Download Manager software they offer, it will download the file for you and automatically update and keep your place in the download queue.

I was using that. Fileplanet's download manager.

I started out with 70 minutes and at place 1700 or so in line. After two and half hours I had a wait time of 140 minutes and was in place 3300

But if I did that, I might as well pre-order it and get access to the direct2drive or steam downloads, right?

I'll just leave my torrent running over night and play tomorrow.
