Skirmish preferenceFollow

A quick and easy question...

Do you have any preferences on where you start a skirmish from? Do you like to begin from a particular location or do you just pull the trigger from where ever you happen to be?

Since I am still spending my SMs as fast as I get them, I like to park at a Skirmish Camp before I begin. That way, the trainer is handy as soon as I'm done...

Quick Tip:

Port to Rivendell puts you near a skirmish camp.

I've kept my map at 21st hall for the AH etc etc. Nice camp there just around the corner and tend to just hang out there, cause like you I"m blowing my SM as fast as I get em. Plus with all the newer map (where ever) added recently, its a quick click to Mirkwood, Shire etc etc even for a burg with no porting abilities.

When I was drilling dailies for the first week and was mostly just leveling up the pet, I parked myself right outside the entrance to the Shire housing area and triggered skirmishes from there. There is a skirmish trainer in the housing area near the vault and vendors. Good for cheaper gear repairs, pet skill upgrades and the pet can be summoned in that area to view the results.

Now I just trigger skirms from almost anywhere as long as I'm close to a vendor for repairs after running a few. I often park in 21st due to access to other places via swift travel combos so I can get somewhere quick if needed for a group right after one.

The skirmish camp west of Esteldin is in a really convenient spot for a hunter too. Almost all services are close and it's a lot less lag compared to 21st. The down side is no AH available.

The Shire skirmish camp is in a particularly awkward location in my opinion. I've heard that a skirmish camp and an AH in Mirkwood are coming soon, my guess is that both will be near or in EL.

This:

21st Hall
Bree
Rivendell

are the only places I have used so far. Most of the time it is 21st hall, but if I port my hobbits to MD for repairs, easiest to get to is Bree. My elf uses Rivendell.

Shire camp (Brokenborings)is too far from quick travel.
Esteldin/Ost Guruth are probably good for lower levels who are questing nearby. Never been to those.
Erud Luin one is near Gondamon right? Again off the beaten fast-travel routes.
Not sure where any of the others are.

The trainer/captain in the housing area is quite convenient.

Skirmish marks are better used for raising the tiers of Legendary weapons imo. My healer pet functions quite well with virtually no upgrades. She dies a lot for sure, but she seems to have a lot of identical sisters to step up whenever she goes down.

An interesting strategy to be sure but I think I'll take a soldier who can remain standing vs one who can be cheaply replaced. After all, you can't call them up in the middle of a fight... you have to wait till there are no mobs attacking so it may be better to have them stay alive...
