Any advice? Please advise ...
I had to jump into the game to double check this but pristine hides come in T4 zones and are used in Artisan recipes so you should begin to encounter them in your mid to late 30s which would put you in zones like North Downs but you'll need to go to the back side of Esteldin or Lake Evendim at least. The North Downs itself is still "sturdy" hides and if memory serves so is the beginning of Evendim.
I'd say your best bet is probably across the Lake in Ever-Swim!

Not taking level of character into consideration...
1)Go to Ost Forod in Evendim
2)Leave town heading due east
3)See bears
4)Defeat bears
5)Wait for respawn if necessary
6)Repeat
or
1)Go To Thorenhad in Trollshaws
2)Head south, across the main road, continuing south and slightly east to Drauglad
3)See wolves
4)Defeat wolves
5)Try not to get over run by wolves if you are under level 45
6)Ignore the Spooked Moor Stalker so folks doing the quest can complete it.
Note: The second option location is often farmed for a deed.
