WAYPOINTSFollow

ok here is something that has me stumped since im new to game still, i printed out a quest and it gave me the /way to get there, here are two examples i tried.

/way 4356, 6758 then i hit enter key and it puts the waypoint under my feet which is not what i want, so i tried 2nd way of doing this

/waypoint 4356, 6758 then i hit enter key and still same thing happens, it puts the waypoint under my feet where im standing INSTEAD of giving me a marker that leads me to the waypoint the quest gives me.

So what am i doing wrong, if quest says head to /way 4356, 6758 and lets say im standing at 3874, 5478 but it keeps putting the way spot under my feet not to the location i wanted to go?
