FF9 is finally on the PSN!!!!Follow

#1 Jun 17 2010 at 12:01 PM Rating: Excellent
Yes I'm excited. Smiley: grin Got the email this morning for a playstation store update, and it's finally here!

I can't afford to get it yet, but I knew others would be excited too, so I figured I'd let you all know.

Downloaded it earlier this week, been playing it on my PSP Smiley: thumbsup

I would love to have a PSP, for no other reason than to play old PS games on it. Playing them on my HD TV just sucks, even when you do smooth out the graphics.

Yeah the format really works well, and is why I re-purchased FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. I already have the disks, but to be able to play on my PSP is totally worth it.

Any idea how much? Will have to check later tonight if I don't see here before I leave work. I really want this since I haven't been able to get a downloaded copy to run on my PSP.

I would care, but my copy still works just fine. I see no reason to buy it again.

But yay pigtails! I've seen you post it many times of your want for the game via PSN.

Damn, still no PSP for me. Guess I'll have to stick with the emulators.

Alas, Vivi, patience. Your time will come.

I still have my original discs, but I no longer have my PlayStation. However, I do have a PSP, so this is welcome news. I really liked FF9. :)

I might need to replace my little PSP soon, though. I have one of the first-gen models (you know, the fat brick-like one), and it was second-hand when I got it, so it's pretty worn. The analog nub's been sticking, and doesn't always return to the "neutral" position. I don't use it often, and the only game I have that really needs the nub is God of War, so it hasn't been a big problem yet. Does anyone have any experience with repairing stuff like that?

Yeah, I was an idiot and lent my copy to someone, and then never got it back. That's the main reason why I've been wanting the re-release on the PSN. I've been FF9-less for far too long...

I've taken mine psp totally apart to fix a Button issue.
If you need spare parts, I suggest the site DX for them. They are cheap, and shipping is free (usually).
Popping the back off the psp and swapping out the piece is pretty easy (I've removed my nub to clean it the last time I opened my psp).

Thank you SO much! This is exactly what I needed to know! Excellent site, too; I could spend all day looking around in there! :D

I know. They have some pretty cool stuff, I've ordered from them a few times. On all my orders, shipping only took about 5-7 days. That is pretty fast imo, going from China to my part of Illinois.

I still have my original copies of FF7,ff8,ff9,ffx and see no reason to repurchase them. Really you shouldn't have to IMO when you buy a game they claim your not buying the disk anyways your buying the right to play the game (thats what they said when people was trying to bootleg). Now they want people to buy the same games over and over again just to play it on another system and that is bull crap.

That being said it is a fair price for people who don't all ready have the game and want to play it.

I agree. No one is forcing anyone to go download the games though. If you already own them and you go download them, that is kind of silly. Granted it's their $10, but I wouldn't do it. I have FF7 and Tactics on disc, and I have no intention of downloading and paying for them again. If I do get a PSP though, it certainly would be nice to be able to get them and my save files on there...

So today I woke up to my brother being all happy. He graduated High School this year and made some money off a Grad Party. He spent it on a ps3.
He bought himself a PSN card (I assume $20) and bought him FF7. I asked why as I pointed down to the ground, where our FF7 CDs lay (and psx).
He told me so he could put it on my PSP. And I questioned again as he KNOWs I could have done that via another option.

He also bought some out fits for little big planet, and again..they were ones he didn't NEED to buy because he has Game of the Year edition and it came with them outfits already unlock >.>

I don't buy much off of PSN, so I don't know, but is there a way my bro could get a refund on these (more so w/ the LBP outfits lol. He bought the Metal Gear outfits, when he already has them :3)? I'm guessing no, and it is a lesson learned on his end (and his money, me being me - I hate seeing money go to waste when there is no reason for it).

I'm pretty sure that you cannot get refunds on anything you purchase through PSN. (Same with Xbox Live and Nintendo Shop).

Yeah I'm not sure either. You could always call a customer service line and find out. At the least, maybe your brother learned a lesson in doing research before he goes out and spends money. =x

Digital Downloads are very strict on there no refund policy, other reason I don't like them. I hope the future doesn't become nothing but Digital Downloads although I get the feeling it eventually will. Big companies love the fact we can't resell them, take them back, transfer them, etc. More money in their pockets and less in ours. I know I want my $10 back for Mega Man 9 on Wii. I go to the store and buy a crappy game at least I can resell it on ebay and get most of my money back.

I could never get into FF9--maybe I'll try again... I still have my discs though, and no PSP, so I won't be purchasing it.

It's a pretty good game. The battle system isn't the best, mostly because the overdrive system is lame, but the story is really good. Especially if you like fantasy over science fiction. The characters are funny but still realistic, and their relationships with each other are quite enjoyable.

Personally I didn't really like the story all that much. It would have been a lot better had so much of it not been ripped straight out of FF4.

I mean, things like 'the summoner village gets destroyed and the only survivor -a little girl- joins my party', or 'the main villain is really my brother and we're both from the moon', aren't quite as cool the second time around.
