Two shots to the chest area is a kill, which is easy enough if your trigger finger is fast enough. It's an extremely powerful gun if you know what the hell you're doing.

I tried it out yesterday, but didn't have much success. For some reason just about every other trigger press of mine wasn't registering, meaning the gun was firing at a slow, irregular rate. Seemed like it was caused by lag. I still managed to do OK, but this resulted in quite a few frustrating deaths. If the gun becomes unreliable when it's laggy, then I won't bother with it for the time being. Odd that the FAL is the only gun I've experienced this with.

You're doing it wrong. Spas-12, secondary of your choice, with Lightweight, Steady Aim, and Marathon. I managed to go 22 for 3 earlier with that set up.

Admittedly I haven't played around with them too much. I didn't like the Spas at all though, especially compared to MW2's version. It simply has about half the range that it used to, which is a bummer any way you swing it. The shotties just don't feel "right" to me, and I think it's because their damage drops to almost nothing at no more than 20' out. Gonna try the Stakeout next and see if it's any better.

I tried out an odd loadout yesterday that I ended up really enjoying. WA2000 + ACOG. It was actually a ton of fun. The logic being: I almost never use sniper rifles because so few of the maps seem to lend themselves to them (there are so few places with a long range of sight, that aren't completely exposed). For me, even the biggest spaces in the game can be bridged with an ACOG'd weapon, and it's more flexible than a sniper scope. WA2000 is a 1HK to the chest and head, and 3HK to the limbs. Basically it worked like an ACOG'd FAL, except that it scores a ton of 1HK's.

I had mixed results with it depending on the game type and situation. Obviously, in more spastic, close range games it wasn't much help. I need to figure out a good close-range secondary for it (oh man, I wish shotties were still secondaries!). But in bigger maps it was awesome. It suited me great; a slightly more dynamic sniper setup.

Plus it looks amazing, and makes a nice, scary noise when you fire it. Smiley: tongue

PS: Also, though I do agree with you guys about matchmaking, at least the game doesn't lend itself to the sort of base-rapes that I've been a part of in Warhawk and Killzone 2. Good lord those could be brutal.

Me and my buddies decided to play some Hardcore S&D today. I was very peeved to find out that Ghost didn't make you invisible to enemy air support. Now I have to work on Ghost Pro to get real hiding power.

I finally unlocked Hardline Pro. It's suprising how hard it is to get your teammates to take your care packages.

I do like the new perk unlocking, they are actually challenging (to an extent) rather than just "Use this perk x times).

I don't like the gametype-specific ones. I don't enjoy playing Demolition or S&D, but I have to if I want Ninja Pro. And I prefer playing defensively on CTF, but if I want Marathon Pro, I'll have to go offense. Aside from that they're okay, although some of them are obnoxiously luck-based.

Some new thoughts:

The Stoner 63 is awesome. Oddly enough, I'm getting a lot of mileage out of the Hardened Perk with it: it's a beastly gun already, but now I have it tearing through enemy cover, too. I love when enemies dive behind cover now. They think they're safe, and I just unload on it until I get hit markers. Works like a charm. The Stoner's got a ton of power behind it...I almost never lose a head-on encounter with an enemy anymore. Hardened is so good with it that I can't bring myself to take it off for Warlord (though the gun screams for a sight + extended mags).

The FAMAS seems like the end-all-be-all of assault rifles to me. Just got the Commando, and it's nice, but I just don't see it topping the FAMAS, which has less recoil and faster firing. I'm still gonna mess with the Commando anyway, just for a change of pace. Perhaps I'll learn to use it better.

The Spectre is pretty sweet when you get it too, though the tiny mag size is an occasional annoyance. I'm using it over the AK74u, though mostly just to be different.

I finally found a serviceable shotgun: the HS-10. It's good, not great. Semi-auto, and pretty easy to OHK with. Makes a nice dull thud noise when it fires. I wish I could put a grip on it, but it only takes Dual Wield, which is really unnecessary for it. Great for maps like Nuketown, or any hectic game where the enemy isn't being very cautious. I went on a tear with that in Cracked, rushing around the enemy's side of the map in the ruins, using the close quarters to play off the gun's strengths.

I had a similar one, though not quite as far with a Flag Carrier. I love that game winning kill one though. I'd hate to be that guy on killcam haha.

I play this game, but pretty badly LOL!

I do love it though. I haven't tried to Pro many perks, or even unlock a lot. I intend on Prestiging so I'm debating if I will bother with pro perks at all until 15th.

Contracts and Challenges provide me and my friends with goals other than "win". It makes the game more fun. Also gives nice boosts to EXP and Cash.

Right now I'm at 10/30 on aircraft kills for Ghost Pro. I'm still working on Hacker Pro, need 10 more Claymore/C4 kills and then need to get all the Jammer/Motion Sensor kills. Apparently Hacker Pro lets me make enemy equipment my own, and lets me turn care packages into explosive devices... I can't wait til I get that.

Yeah I'm working on Hacker Pro right now too. Hardline pro is awesome, too, you can change the contents of your Care Package if you don't like it. I HATE using Package killstreaks though. :(

Marathon Pro is the first one I always get. Ghost P, SoH P, and Marathon P. Odd, because I was Ninja onry in the other games.

I dont think Im going to Prestige again though, I did this first one for the extra slot with so may other game types and things to do I just don t see the point. A golden gun? Woopdy doo. Did it in MW, WaW, and MW2. I'm tired of it.

Also, Treyarch<3 for HC CTF. <333333333

I like how he said Microsoft Points, as if they can be earned without using actual money.

If Microsoft screws up enough, they usually give you some free MSP, but I would prefer it if they just changed over to money so that I didn't have to go through the extra hassle of adding MSP to my account every time I want to download something. It's probably the only thing about PS3 that I actually like, now that I know about it.

Why do people play objective games when all they do is camp and not do (objective)? I dont care if you go 60-0 on a game of CTF. 60-0-0-0, I'd be more impressed with the guy who goes 10-40 with 6 caps and 3 returns. If your just gonna sit in a corner and not play the damn game, stop wasting room in my lobby and go play TDM. I've seen people sit wth both flags (ours to be returned, the other teams as the captor died near our base) 20 feet from our flag place, and they sit. And sit, and fire wildly and miss the enemy and let them return their flag and take ours. GRAB THE DAMN FLAGS. I WAS SITTING DEAD FOR 15 SECONDS, means you have at least 12 before (enemy) was near, to grab return, and cap the flag.

And don't even get me started on HQ or Domination. Or sabatoge. /nerdrage

We played Hardcore CTF last night. It was fun. I especially liked hearing "That son of a ***** isn't fit for the mission, get him out of here!". Took us a second to realize what was happening. Then one of my friends joined late and we didn't tell him, he dropped a napalm and killed himself, two teammates, and an enemy. He got banned from the lobby, he tried to rejoin and you hear "Get that son of a ***** out of my sight!".

We played the rest of the game without him, since we were winning and didn't want to leave. Afterwards we backed out and picked him up. Had a good laugh.

I like what they did with CTF. Two rounds, first team to three points wins the round. Overtime is no longer just touching the flag, you have to capture it, but overtime is sudden death, one point wins the round.

I just don't understand why they cant have hardcore everything. And bring ricochet back on objective games. Although, getting killed by a teammate when you have the enemy flag and seeing them go -1500 pts IS hilarious.

I wish they had some more combo game types. Right now unless you choose Team Tactical (too few players, we roll with 5) or Ground War, it's just a single game type. I want something like Moshpit and Hardcore Moshpit. 12 players, multiple game types, hardcore option.

I did hate Ricochet at times. A teammate would run in front of you JUST as you pulled the trigger...

Oh, I get that part of it, but some of the Pro perks require playing certain game types (Marathon Pro requiring CTF play, for example, ick...). I just don't see the point of killing myself to play game types I don't enjoy for perks I'll lose when I prestige until I either hit 15 or decide to stop prestiging. I do have a few Pro perks (Warlord, Steady Aim, Scavenger, Lightweight), and would love to have others (Marathon, Ghost and Ninja). Eventually I'll have them all, but for the time being, I'd rather just HQ EXPwhore.

More combo game types would be a worthy addition indeed.

I'm not crazy about the contract system. It seems to only cycle through the same two lackluster sets ( mostly just kill x amount with y weapon, win x amount of games, or play really well stuff ). When it was announced, I envisioned it having some fun, weird conditions, like "kamekaze on an enemy with a grenade in your hand" or "kill an enemy after doing a jumping 360." And add more variety to the time limits to include more difficult and rare challenges.

Just because it'd be fun to see everyone acting bizarre and playing silly every time a unique contract came up. Imagine playing a game and being like "I have no idea what this dude on the other team is doing. He keeps trying to kill me while simultaneously falling to his death."

Wager Matches are my favorite ones to play.

I just wish they had some interesting gameplay modes that earned XP instead of just money, I'd play those constantly. Sharpshooter, Gun Game, One in the Chamber, and Sticks and Stones are all great.

I picked up the First Strike pack today, though I didn't get to play much, I did try each map once. First impressions are they are a camper's wet dream. If you're the type to just ignore objectives and sit in one place to ambush people, you'll feel right at home. Personally, that's not my thing. If I could get a refund I probably would, as I won't be playing these maps much at all.
