With the new coming of GW2, we have several races to choose from. From what I understand none of the races will have attribute differences, just a couple race skills and appearance is all that differs from say a Norn Elementalist and an Asuran Elementalist.
With the new PvP (especially world PvP) it seems to be really "skill" and "awareness" based. Something that is a HUGE part of this in other games is positioning and using the terrain to your advantage on the battlefield. That is why in almost any other game, the "smaller" races reap the most benefiet in terms of hiding and such. Say you're an Asuran Warrior and you were out soloing in WvW, and you run across a full group of enemies. You can just run behind and boulder or a tree and you're not likely to be seen. On the flip side, if you're a Norn warrior you try to hide behind the same rock... 3/4 of your body won't be covered by it.
If there is no incentive to really play a different race other then cosmetic looks, why would any serious PvPer roll such a large and noticeable character? I can't see the racial abilities being a HUGE deal, and if anything they will all be balanced to a point where it won't matter.
Does anyone else see this being a problem?
