Want a not-so-sneaky preview of Windows 8's Metro interface, with its colorful quilt of movable squares and rectangles, already on December 6? You'll need an Xbox 360, and...yep, that's it. Just an Xbox 360.
Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb says the latest overhaul of the Xbox 360's dashboard and LIVE features, in preview testing for some time now, will drop on Tuesday, December 6.
In the update, Hryb says to look for the following features:
- New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile
- Beacons and Facebook Sharing
- Enhanced Family Settings
- Integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps
- Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK and CA)
Hryb also promises "a wealth of new content...from world-leading providers in more than 20 countries" will start showing up on the 360 from December 6 on, including "customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music."
