I think most people in this thread are having the same problem as me, see a great deal buy a game and place it somewhere on our "I'll play this soon as I beat <Insert games here>. We're suckers for good deals.
True facts. I'm still playing a bit of Terraria, have yet to try more of ME3 after beating it once (and still need the DLC), and just last night I fired up The Witcher 2. Speaking of which (heh, witch/which... puns), I SUCK at it. I got to the last part of the tutorial and died. Who dies in a tutorial? This guy. And worst of all: I was SOBER! I can't even blame my suckage on alcohol.

That's to be expected, everyone dies there until they get the hang of the game. It throws you to the wolves at first but it gets easier once the controls become instinctual. Keep going it's worth it.

Dark Souls
Ditto. Read the note... It says run! DS and TW2 remind me a lot of each other in action combat styles and challenge. Both are awesome with some patience and learning.
Any idea if the new content for Terraria that's coming out when it comes out on PS3 will be available on PC?
I had no idea that Terraria was coming out for PS3. I thought the developers said they were done with the game and wanted to move on to new projects.
I didn't find out about it until this morning when my roommate showed me a preview vid. Since I'm usually last to know, I figured you all might have an idea.
Well... I was working my way through my PC games. Starting up a few, playing them. Also my PS3 game backup (Found White Knight Chronicles 2 on sale and bought it, decided to finish the last 30 minutes of 1 and then start 2)
But then I made the mistake of turning on my PS2 emulator, and fired up some old PS2 backups I had. Now I'm playing Wild Arms 5 (actually liking it) and popping in FFX-2 for the hell of it (Don't judge me!). So much for my current game backlog...
First world Problems. I'm with Joph except a shorter backlog of only around 70 titles. I've been collecting PS3 games like a sponge with all the buy 2 get 1 free sales.
Playing an mmo has kept me from doing that too much. I do have games from ps1 era that I want to play and I am going to go though my list and try to avoid buying too many new games until I can get through the majority of games that are collecting dust.

I still have yet to beat Legend of Dragoon (PS1), Dragon Quest VIII, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, Persona 3 FES: The Answer, and Star Ocean: Til the Ends of Time (all PS2).
PS1 -Final Fantasy 1 -Final Fantasy 2 -Final Fantasy 4 -Final Fantasy 5 -Final Fantasy 6 -Chrono Cross -Breath of Fire 3 -Star Wars Ep 1: Jedi Power Battles -Xenogears -Legend of Dragoon
PS2 -Dark Cloud 1 -Dark Cloud 2 -Xenosaga -Dragon Quest 8 -Killzone -Socom: US Navy Seals -Unlimited Saga (doubt I will ever play this crap) -Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits -Star Ocean: Till the End of Time -Final Fantasy X-2 -Final Fantasy 12
Gamecube -Tales of Symphonia -Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles -Summoner: A Goddess Reborn -Metroid Prime
Xbox -Hitman 2 -Psi-Ops -Dead to Rights -KotOR -Ninja Gaiden
DS -Final Fantasy 3 -Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
360 -Ninja Gaiden 2 -Final Fantasy 13 -Star Wars: The Force Unleashed -Dragon Age: Origins -Read Dead Redemption -Mass Effect 2
Some good, some bad. Those are all the games that I want to get through before I start going on a buying bender and stockpiling another pile of games. Oh I also got Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl I got to download and play.
PS1 -Final Fantasy 1 - Play the PSP Version if you can -Final Fantasy 2 - Never actually beaten this -Final Fantasy 4 - I would emulate these -Final Fantasy 5 -Final Fantasy 6 -Chrono Cross -Breath of Fire 3 -Star Wars Ep 1: Jedi Power Battles -Xenogears -Legend of Dragoon
PS2 -Dark Cloud 1 -Dark Cloud 2 -Xenosaga -Dragon Quest 8 -Killzone -Socom: US Navy Seals -Unlimited Saga (doubt I will ever play this crap) -Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits -Star Ocean: Till the End of Time -Final Fantasy X-2 -Final Fantasy 12
Gamecube -Tales of Symphonia -Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles -Summoner: A Goddess Reborn -Metroid Prime

DS -Final Fantasy 3 -Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

If I were you PS1 -Final Fantasy 1 - Play the PSP Version if you can -Final Fantasy 2 - Psp Version, Never beat myself -Final Fantasy 4 - Emulate, Or play the FFIV Complete Collection on PSP prefered -Final Fantasy 5 - Emulate -Final Fantasy 6 - Emulate - The PS1 is laggy and terrible. -Chrono Cross - Good game but terrible if your a completionist -Breath of Fire 3 - I've never finished this but there is a PSP Version (Exact port) -Star Wars Ep 1: Jedi Power Battles - Fighting Game I think never played it myself -Xenogears - Drop everything and play this, I've beaten it like 7 times I love this game (YMMV) -Legend of Dragoon - Fun game but towards the end gets long winded and seems to drag on forever, also gets really grindy, interesting (yet grindy), battle system
PS2 -Xenosaga - Idk I beat 1&2 and 3 just seems meh, 1 was ok but CS heaven, 2 was meh (As most middle of trilogy anythings are) and 3 I just kinda lost interest -Dragon Quest 8 - I've owned this game 4 times and Still never get very far, I always get to around collecting the last character and lose interest, not terrible but just meh. IMHO -Unlimited Saga (doubt I will ever play this crap) I think you already said everything for yourself. -Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits Never played the Arc the Lad series, friend had the PS1 special collection just never got around to playing em myself. -Star Ocean: Till the End of Time - As a completionist myself this game drove me up a wall. -Final Fantasy X-2 - Watched my gf beat this by holding X the entire last fight never had to heal or anything, goodluck! -Final Fantasy 12 - Fun game, interesting design choice, like playing FFXI with less rejects, but terribly easy if you have played FFXI and have a good idea about tank/heal/dps rolls
Gamecube -Tales of Symphonia - Good game, I would also suggest Tales of the Abyss (PS2/3ds) I like the combat -Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Never actually seen anything on this cept it looked multiplayer orientated and I has no friends so yeah -Summoner: A Goddess Reborn - Never heard of this game.
Xbox -Ninja Gaiden - Might suggest getting either the PS2 or other remakes they made They eased up on a little on the omfg everything kills me almost instantly, never beat it myself but i rented it and its one of those games you need to actually sit down and learn the controls, I have nothing against hard games but sometimes it felt cheap.
DS -Final Fantasy 3 - Havent played this one yet but I went with the PSP version (Import but has english) -Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - good game, wish they hadn't chosen to go with stylus only movement felt very easy if you got around that issue
360 -Ninja Gaiden 2 - Havent played it need to pick it up (PS3 version will never own a 360) -Final Fantasy 13 - Get PS3 version if you can, Looks and plays better from what I've seen. -Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Beat it on PSP which is exactly the same game it seems minus HD Graphics, easy quick game
Just some opinions here on your list, take em or leave em. As I mention PSP a few times its a nice (easily jailbroken) system that while it didnt have a TOn of stand out hits was nice to have a carry around PS1 emulator + Remake system. I've had one since launch and have upgraded from the Fat to the 2000 and now I have an early gen 3000 (as the later ones were unjailbreakable).
PS1 -Final Fantasy 6 -Chrono Cross -Breath of Fire 3 -Legend of Dragoon
FFVI(aka, FF3 on SNES) is my favorite Final Fantasy game. Not sure how it's held up on the PS1. I'd go with an emulator; I remember playing it at a friend's house a few years back and thinking the load screens took forever. Chrono Cross has an awesome story and your first run through is a little difficult; I remember some of the bosses giving me issues, since you can't outlevel them. Breath of Fire 3 was AWESOME; I loved the fishing and faerie village mini-games. Also the dragon mechanic was neat. Legend of Dragoon I've had a ton of people recommend, but... it's slow and dull for me. When an important character died I gathered that it was supposed to be a heart-wrenching moment, but the speeches just left me rolling my eyes. I've been slugging through it, but haven't even finished the first disc.

PS2 -Star Ocean: Till the End of Time -Final Fantasy X-2 -Final Fantasy 12
I liked the Star Ocean anime franchise back in the day, which is why I picked up SSSC and TTEOT. Never completed TTEOT... got to a certain point where I think I had the best weapons in the game, but it just got dull and the story was disjointed for me. I need to try it again; once you can craft the ultimate items I can't imagine the rest of the game is difficult. FFX-2 is... eh... good for FFX fans? I played it, the combat mechanics were interesting... but honestly I liked FFX better (and FFX isn't even one of my top 3 FF games). FF12 had so much story potential, as it's set in FFT's universe, but it fell so short. The best thing I can say is that combat is much quicker than other FF games, but you'll come to hate the necessity of drawing/sheathing your weapon between combat.

360 -Dragon Age: Origins -Mass Effect 2
Cannot recommend these two enough. ME2 is my favorite ME franchise game, and DA:O is simply the best RPG I've played in years (despite it's many quirks and faults). Not sure how they differ on 360 compared to PC, but they're darn good games.
Titan Quest added to the Humble THQ Bundle as a "beat the average" incentive. If you already bought the bundle for any price, you have a Titan Quest Steam key waiting for you.
While it's a table top rpg, you can get First Fable in a pdf download for free. I think I may use this to get my friends started, since I'm a horrible teacher/dm.
FirstFable is a simple, elegant game designed to help adult gamers introduce young players to the joys of roleplaying. Appropriate for players as young as 6 years old, FirstFable was designed by professionals in both game design and education, and is available, free of charge, to anyone who wishes to use it.
I won't be pre-ordering DA3, that's for sure. DA2 really soured me on the series. I'll be waiting to read some in-depth reviews and even then will be waiting for a significant discount on the purchase price.
