Someday Anno 2070 will get below $10 and I'll finally buy it.

And probably backlog it. But still.

Miner 2081 is Steam's daily deal-- $10. Looks interesting. Dunno if I'll grab it or not.

Miner 2081 was just part of the Indie Gala Flash bundle that ended a few days ago. You could possibly find keys cheaper.

I'm late to the party on this Origin thing, so somebody give me the quick and skinny on how it works. Will downloaded games for Origin work on any other platforms (e.g. Steam)?

Nope. It's pretty much just Steam, but limited to EA games. There are some limited social features, if you care, but that's about all. Cloud storage is available, and it's linked to the store. Most modern games will allow you to patch straight from the system, and it's fairly easy to access the DLC menu.

But overall, it's just a less impressive version of Steam.

I doesn't really bother me. A mild nuisance, segregating some of my favorite games away from the rest of my library, but overall it makes very little difference.

[EDIT]

Realized my listing was confusing. Cloud storage is available. The Origin platform includes a store feature.

Those two are not linked.

Nope its its separate loader, like Steam. To play the game you need to install and load Origin then install and play the game from within Origin. Like how Steam works. If its an Origin game it doesnt use Steam.

Edit:Digg beat me to it.

Speaking of the deals: Amazon has Cars, Jets, DirtBikes Pack(Ridge Racer Unbounded, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, MUD - FIM Motorcross World Championship) for 14.99 all Steam activated. Or each game is separately 8.99-9.99)

Ridge Racer IIRC got decent reviews, as did Ace Combat, The Dirt Bike game I've never heard of.

Be warned, Assault Horizon turned Ace Combat into CoD. Don't support it if you want the series to return to the previous game style, the ones where the majority of air combat isn't based on an on-rail gimmick.

Farcry 3 is $30, and Kingdoms of Amalur is $15 ($25 for the game and all DLC) today on Steam. However KoA is $7.50 on GMG for Origin with no DLC included.

Not really a deal update, but just a notice that AMD is sending out the codes for Bioshock Infinite if you got one through the "Gaming Reloaded" deal.

Don't think anyone pointed this out: the entire Assassin's Creed lineup is on sale via Steam right now, but the deal ends in an hour and a half.

AC3- $25 (50%)
ACR $10 (66%)
ACB $5 (75%)
AC2 $5 (75%)
AC $5 (75%)

Sale on DLC too.

Franchise Pack $65 (35%), which includes all of the above, plus DLC for ACR but is NOT A DEAL unless you miss the sale on the piecemeal items, because it actually costs more right now. But it's up for 25 more hours.

It's good? Because I was seriously debating it. I like the idea of a large-scale RTS game... I tend to fail horribly at them because I want to build up the biggest base I can, with all the upgrades, when the best strategies have specific build orders and priorities to counter your enemy...

Now, Rebellion is the stand-alone 3rd expansion, but the video will give you a good idea of SoSE in general.

Sins of a Solar Empire is a good game if you like the idea of Civ in Space. Im not a huge Civ fan, so I wasnt able to stick with it for very long, but it was still cool.

Well, Galactic Civilizations, another Stardock game, is a turn-based strategy, where SoSE has RTS elements.
