The modern setting & story certainly set it apart from other MMOs, as does it's level-less...um...leveling system, but when it comes to combat- you've seen it before. What really sets it apart is it's investigation missions- they're very ARG like & quite challenging.
For Example: One of the earliest Investigation Missions you get makes mention of a clock, if you find the right clock & note the time its stuck on, you are then to use that time to find a bible passage that points you, more or less, in the right direction. Another one has you deciphering morse code (I used a skill I learned in Boy Scouts 20+ years ago, huzzah) to figure out the coordinates of your next objective.
The players seem to be MUCH friendlier on the RP "servers", but since they're all on the same mega server under different "dimensions" you can play with your friends wherever. Thats neat.
Graphics are good, but character designs are a bit of a weak link (females have very blocky boobies). I'm having fun- but casually. And unlike the only other MMO I ever played "hardcore" (FFXI), it doesn't take hours & 5 other people to accomplish stuff. I give it a B+, 'cause I killed a mini-Chthulu this morning.
