So, the game went f2p earlier then expected. I had a friend play this years ago and her and her bf liked it enough (before moving to EQ2), that I always had thought about playing it. It may be late, but I'm going to start once it's finished installing. Are there a large group that plays anywhere? A preferred Zam server maybe? Are there even servers?

I honestly thought that Vanguard had been shuttered already. Huh.

It sucked when they got rid of that forum. Nowhere left to have them stick unwanted threads.

I might give it a look-see in a few weeks. Right now my video card is dying and I can't order one for another week and a half.

I downloaded it and played for my free 15 days a month or so ago. Since it's still loaded I may mess around some now that it's ftp. It has the diplomacy game which is unique to this MMO and I kinda like it.

On a whim, I gave it a go the other night. The lag spikes were unbearable. I've got a solid connection, and it was mentioned in chat, so I know it wasn't just me. You'd seriously be mid battle and the whole game would freeze up like nothing was happening for a good 2 or 3 minutes at a time. I died several times before I finally gave up.

Yeah, the game overall is fun...but I tried playing over the weekend... No....Just NO.

Elinda, Diplomacy is by far my favorite thing to do so far (aside from be logged in hah). I even restarted my character just so I could go back to the Isle and do all the diplomacy stuff (I focused on questing the first go...and then was overwhelmed with it when I was in the real world).
