I can not wait to shoot a ship in space from the ground, or shoot a Dust battlefield from space....I think this is cool sh*t.

Very cool indeed. I've been out of the beta for a long time; eager to see how the game's shaping up.

Side note: I'd love it if you could see video of the effects of your orbital strikes in Dust in real-time. I suspect that on the EVE side, the action is a fair bit less dramatic.

I would think so as well, but then again I would imagine that the Dusties won't get to see their Orbital attack either. Then again who knows, I never got to actually play it much, they gave EVE players a few weekends here and there to join the beta, but after it went to the Test server (singularity) I wasn't able to connect, nor did CCP send us any notifications about being able to join.

Still though it seems like it is going to be pretty cool. Not bad for a FTP game if you ask me.

Not at all.

I expect it'll draw a lot of comparisons to Planetside 2, favorable or not. What makes me excited is the potential for expansion. One of the things I've always loved about EVE is the commitment CCP has to the game: a less scrupulous developer would have withheld new content for bundling into an "EVE 2" a long time ago. Instead, CCP just keeps putting out free expansions. I think it's one of the reasons their subscription model is still holding.

FPS games never see new content/patching that far down the line...a year after their release, a sequel is already on the way out. Dust could turn that on its head.

Open Beta Announced

I downloaded it on PSN (Its free) If you want to try it out with a terrible (and i do mean bad) console FPS player Im all for trying it with others. PSN: Zackavious
