I started Dead Island the other day. Bought the GOTY for a few bucks a while back. I remembered it having mixed reviews but figured I might as well give it a shot.

It's okay. I guess. Hard to get excited about zombie games any more. The characters are done well enough. Some characters are annoying as hell and a just God would let me knife them. The weapon system is sh*t and it's hard to get into a game where your baseball bat or meat cleaver breaks after killing four guys with it. I know there's mods and repair stations and all but... again... my steel wrench starts falling apart after hitting four zombies upside the face.

That's why I played as the rapper, since his specialty is unarmed combat I didn't have to use weapons on anything lower than a special zombie.

It's always weird when a metal pipe breaks over smacking a squishy decomposing body.

I'd feel obligated to shout "Who do you voodoo, *****?!" at the screen each time I pimp-slapped a zombie to death.

So I finally picked up Heavy Rain for PS3 yesterday. I ******* played through it in one sitting. I was surprised at how much I didn't ming QTE: The Game. I ended up having to turn the difficulty down to medium, because my reaction time is ****, and I was reclined on the couch, putting the controller at an odd angle to get all the Sixaxis prompts right. Any time I knew it was going to be Sixaxis heavy, I'd have to sit up so I could keep the controller parallel to the ground so all the motion **** would register correctly. Aside from that, it was a quite enjoyable story. Some of the graphics are... awkward (any kissing scene is robotic and could have been done better, in my opinion, by angling them so their mouths weren't visible). Some of the animations are a bit off, too, but the game is a few years old. I'm really looking forward to what QD does with Beyond: Two Souls.

I've been meaning to pick that up for a long while now. I enjoyed the demo, just never got around to it.

It was a good experience. I know there are different endings and stuff, but I probably won't go through it again, at least not for a long time. It was $20 new, and I guess it was around 7.5-8 hours. I got the "best" ending. There are quite a few ways you can influence the story. I guess there's supposed to be around 25+ hours of content if you go back and see everything. So for one playthrough, the money:playlength ratio can be pretty poor compared to other games, even at $20, but I definitely think it was worth it.

Oh, $20 gets you the "Director's Cut" which includes an additional scenario. I haven't played it yet, so I don't know how long that is. So you do get a bit more than the 8 hours.

I'm playing Rune Factory 4, Super Meat Boy (slowly, SLOWLY chipping away at 100(6?)%. I've only 100% The Forest and am close on The Hospital. I just beat Gunpoint the other day, which was great for the price, actually a delightful game. Started playing The Swapper. I also started a modded out game of New Vegas (which is actually kind of sexy, pimped out). I plan on taking the plunge on Witcher 2 very soon. I have a lot of playing to do before SR4 and GTAV.

I beat Sleeping Dogs finally. It was ok but dragged on a bit and was pretty cliche. I didnt 100% or anything just beat the main story. I liked it overall. Im contemplating what to play next. (Or chip away at Darksiders 1)

Go back and play the side story DLC, like "Nightmare in Northpoint".

Not a bad game, but probably my least favorite of the genre...

I couldn't get over how terrible the driving physics were.

I liked it just because: A man without a pork bun is only half a man.

Also I liked the Kung Fu street fights, learning new moves and trying to incorporate them in. The driving did get kinda brutal at times. Not as bad as mafia 2 in the winter though.

SRTT driving was nice when you got your car all tanked up with reinforcements and it became much less fragile. I liked that system.

Saw the trailer for it, looks like Super Meat Boy combined with Bullet Hell shooters. Smiley: yikes
