If you played on the PC, you should revisit the core game and see how you like it now. They just put through a major content patch that changes a lot.

I played just last weekend for the first time since vanilla and it's really fun now. But now that there's a level 70 cap with the expansion (which everyone I know bought immediately, despite hating the way they made d3 and quitting after 1pt) there isn't much point in grinding out level 60 loot, right? Maybe I'm missing something I can do that would be worth while, because I do want to continue playing vanilla.

I got more hrs and fun out of torchlight 2 and poe for a lot less money, I have a hard time further rewarding activision for their terrible moneygrab version of d3.

Well, there's only as much point to grinding in Diablo as you want there to be. The endgame activities for 70 are much the same as they are for 60: get better gear. There's not a big difference between doing that at 60 and doing that at 70. If you decide later down the line to get the expansion, then yeah, you're gear will be out of date. However, that's going to be the same for whenever they inevitably raise the level cap to 80 in the next expansion.

The point I'm making is, as long as you're having fun then who cares what level it's at?

I have fond memories of FFX & FFXI. I doubt I could play either game today, unfortunately.

I've replayed FFX somewhat recently. Maybe 2-3 years ago. The game held up pretty well, actually. The graphics (playing SD on an HDTV) were my biggest complaint, by far.

If I had a Vita, I'd definitely have that version.

No PS3 either? I'm playing it on PS3.

Oh, I have a PS3, I just meant that I'd DEFINITELY own it if I had a Vita. Right now I'm waiting.

I played some Castlevania Mirror of Fate this weekend.

It was ok if you wanted to watch a lot of video. In the hour and a half I played I'm sure half of that was tied up in cut scenes. They even cut in two boss kills! I wanted to try to kill them baddies. The only saving grace was the art was pretty good (the storyline only so-so)

The gameplay when I got to do it was actually pretty fun. It lacked the crazy-scary 'nighttime' survival feel that I got from the original Castlevania.

The improvements to the visuals are enough that I'm actually glad I'm playing it on the 40" television.

Been having a blast with D3: RoS. 2 characters to 70, will probably work on a 3rd eventually as well (got Crusader up to 50, it's fairly fun but a bit clunky imo). The new adventure mode with Rifts and Bounties is a great addition for level cap content and gear "farming". Much better than just doing the same old kill runs over and over again. Also the new difficulty levels are well tuned - with moderate gear (a couple decent legendaries) and some skill I can do Torment I/II, but past that is too hard or too time consuming. What I'm less pleased with is the drop rates on all the new legendary crafting materials and keys - they seem really low. Like, really really low. Not sure if that's intentional or what, but it's a less welcome change from the key farming in Vanilla (though I do admit even those had streaks of no drops). I just want to see the new key content! I do like how the machines are separated so (I'm assuming) you can choose which portal to open.

I've also been playing a lot of FFXIV. Of course the new big content patch had to hit 2 days after RoS. Been trying to split my time between the 2 games but I ended up playing more D3 this weekend by far >_>.

The Rifts & Bounties system makes for pretty quick leveling on a fresh character, too. My new HC Crusader is around level 30. The followers are unlocked at certain levels (I don't remember what levels specifically, but near when you'd get them on Normal in story mode), and you can basically just never play the story again. Of course, I still have to play through Act V on softcore to unlock adventure mode, but at least on HC i don't have to anymore.

The nice thing about finishing the story is the guaranteed legendary at the end. Of course, if you're not interested in the story at all then that's a lot of work for just one legendary (well, and a plan for some bracers the first time you kill Malthael) Smiley: tongue.

I think Diablo drops 2 Legendarys every kill (Least he has for me). Im looking forward to get RoS, I'm waiting on my taxes to come back before I have any disposable income.

FC3 Blood Dragon made me do an escort mission right off the bat and the escort died. Will devs every learn how much we Fing hate escort missions?

They do, that's why he gets killed off.

I'd be into this more if the mission did not fail when it happened. I was prolly just not in the right mood for this game.

Okay, yeah, Neverwinter is pretty boring at max level. No matter what class you play (I tried Great Weapon Fighter and Control Wizard). Great combat, interesting stories, neat player-created content, but nothing to keep it going after you hit max level.

Time to find another MMORPG to waste my time on.

I just got hit with the strong desire to play a MMO, but I have no particular desires in terms of which one... Not interested in WoW or FFXIV (both of which I have max level chars in).

May or may not be interested in TOR - can't decide.

Play Borderlands 2? You mentioned you owned it and hadn't played it much and it honestly kind of plays like an MMO(FPS), what with gear and leveling and talent trees and the whole style and flavour of the world.

On that note, I'm playing through the story for the second time with Gaige now, Anarchy is the ****. Also first time 'round I had some serious trouble with Blue, took me all of about 30 seconds now (although the 300 stacks of Anarchy and orange assault rifle I found help a lot).

Oh man I wanted to love that Waifu, I really did. I beat normal with her but watching anarchy stacks makes me insane. I really don't like managing stacks that fall off without refresh or on death in any game.

Rebind the reload key so you don't accidentally reload and it's pretty easy and if I do happen to die and lose my stacks I've got a sniper rifle to get the first 50 or so stacks rolling so my assault rifle or shotgun can get to 1 or 2 shotting almost anything.

She was my like my 3rd character after taking 2 to 70 back when that was the cap. So reloading was pretty much ingrained in my brain like breathing. I thought about the unbinding thing but ultimately rolled a SAL to mess around and got swept up in the power of near unlimited gunzerking first with Infinity pistols and later with DPUH and Ruby. Took him to cap as well.

Sal is pretty much a beast once he gets enough points in him.
