Oh, Ya, I'm pretty sure I did that one on my THM. Biggs and Wedge flying the Tiny Bronco, right? And one of the Magitek armors appear after while you fight off the evil Empire guys trying to save Wedge.

Yep.

Turns out that the armor appears based on the Imperial healer's health. I guess he's the main bad guy in the fight. If you ignore him, you can pick off all the other dudes and it's cake.

Also crafting, Interesting take but needs a Mass produce but 0% chance of HQ. I really hate having to make every bar individually but I can see that will help sell them later. Also I wasnt able to find an AH is there one in the game yet?

I mean I may be wrong maybe Im just missing something but yeah. I unlocked every job and craft. I still find the game fun but I was getting pissed at certain fights and the feeling of being stuck because there wasnt any quests i could do. I was on the SL fight with the demon/mage and died like 2 times before I beat it, and Im STILL stuck on the lvl 15 pug quest even with the Npc healing me the Enemies taking like half my life each special move, and I cant find quests ANYWHERE cept those 2 chains

It's not a traditional AH, but if you did the market quest that the adventurer guild person gave you, they should have pointed the way out to you.

Also, I'm very happy there's no mass produce option. I hate nearly every crafting system where you can just queue everything up and walk away from the computer. Only exception is EVE.

If you want to see some real Magitek Armor (FF6 style, not the Golem style wannabe that attacks you there. Go to Northern Thanalan, to the Ceruleum Processing Plant. Beyond that is the Magitek Factory, and roaming around outside are Magitek Armors. Everything in the area is level 40s though. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for Gridania. Went to Northern Thanalan instead of Eastern.

I kind of like this UI setup I saw on Reddit: http://i.imgur.com/N2ODF9h.jpg

Though I typically like my hotbars to be smaller, since once I know what they all are, I just like the visual cues, I don't need huge buttons.

I didn't realize until just now that there was a HUD Layout menu inside the system menu. I tried for about 10 minutes to figure out how to move the Enemy list icon...

So Anyone else realize they just took the "best" of every FF5-9 and tossed it in the game hoping it would stick? Job System 5 (Kinda), Magitek (FF6) Materia (FF7) Gunblades (FF8) Spiritbond (Sorta FF9) a sprinkle of FF12 enemy design, FF11 nostalgia mobs. Only thing cant find is a reference to FF10.

Just thought it was funny.

(BTW Pug 15 quest is a Pain in the *****

Sometime soon I have to make a trip to Mexico for work. I am assuming it's going to be near the end of July, but they haven't decided yet. Then I have to make a 1-2 month trip down south for a while for a big project around October or November... probably gonna have to get a laptop set up with FFXIV.

Played around for a bit on Lancer since I don't really want to get to far on the Marauder stuff and then have to go back and repeat it. I got up to level 16 and just picked up my Airship pass. The level 15 Lancer quest is only hard because of the stupid number of mobs, but you can walk around the edge of the arena to avoid most of them. It ends when you kill the main mob, so they can be ignored. I did get to only 6 HP though, so winning was a bit of luck. I haven't done the dungeons yet, so I can't say how hard they are. I will say that I vastly prefer Gridania, to Limsa Lominsa so I'll probably end up making that my home base. I haven't been to the other city yet, but the pictures of seen of it to inspire me much.

For what it's worth, I was playing on a laptop at work. 3rd gen i5, 4GB of RAM, integrated graphics. I was getting 20-25 FPS on "Medium" settings, with shadows turned down. It wasn't super high quality, but it was playable.

I took Gladiator and Thaumaturge to level 22 (seperate characters) and played each one through the entirety of the Beta storyline. The final mission Save Biggs and Wedge from the Evil Empire was pretty easy on both of them. Gladiator was just straight up melee it while NPCs tanked. Thaumaturge was keep everything asleep and nuke the hell outta **** while NPCs tanked.

The class quests at 5, 10, and 15 do a pretty good job of teaching you the basic roll of your class for the three city dungeons from the ones I've seen. Specifically the level 15 class quests.

For Thaumaturge, it teaches you how to manage additional enemies in battle using sleep.
For Gladiator, it teaches you how to draw crowd hate from a healer, and also how to avoid enemy special skills so your healer can actually keep you alive.

Those are the only two I made it through the level 15 quest on. I did the level 10 on Conjurer, but I don't remember learning much from it.

I always love the magic nukers. But Gladiator was pretty fun too. I'm torn, don't know what to make as my permanent yet. It was really fun running around as a Gladiator/Conjurer and tanking Fate bosses.

Well the nice thing is that you don't have to care which you make as your permanent. Just choose what you'd like to start as (and what city you want to start in will be huge in reducing that down).

I didn't really play all that much. For one, because I was helping siblings move and building furniture (latter for myself) most of the weekend.

For me, it's coming down to the fact that I don't like Ul'dah nearly as much as the other two cities. So I won't be starting Thaumaturge, Gladiator, or Pugilist.

I'll probably be starting Conjurer or, if it's available, Arcanist. My plan right now is to head for the Summoner job, but I also kind of like the idea of having my healing magic unlocked for all future stuff by taking Conjurer to 15 first. And I'll probably need it leveled for Summoner anyway...

The last thing to figure out is my race. Right now, I'm thinking Miqo'te, Lalafell, or Hume. Bias is for Lalafell, but I'm 100% withholding judgement until I see their animations.

I boosted a Marauder up to 15 to run dungeons, but I didn't realize it was a tank, too. I didn't end up playing it after that.

Gladiator was really fun. I'll have to learn to mark targets faster, though. When I ran the level 20 dungeon, I got a group where if I pulled 3 mobs, nobody would be attacking the same one as anybody else. On Conjurer, I told the DPS to not stand in front of mobs with the tank, and let someone die because they kept getting hit by cleaves. Healing was pretty simple. I liked that I could toss out Aero to DoT mobs.

I'm still undecided on what race to make. I'm pretty much down to a female human or female elf. We'll see, though. Phase 4 is supposed to have all the customization options available, so if there are some sweet beards, I might just make a human male.

I didn't learn about marking until near the end. I had watched someone do it early on in my first run as a Thaumaturge a week or so ago but didn't know how they did it. I wonder if you can Hotkey the marking? That will make it easier.

Edit:
Oh, and I know it doesn't really matter in the end what you start as, but it's just the experience going through the storyline as a certain class.

I was thinking about starting as Conjurer, because I could get that to 15 right away, and then swap to Gladiator and already have Cure and whatnot at the start. But I don't know.

I just found out that you can hotkey your gear sets (that's what they have on the sidebar in that UI pic I posted earlier). That'll make it easier to swap jobs/classes.

Additional skills must be either Stat or Class based level restrictions on them.

As a Thaumaturge, if my level was capped below level 17, I could not use Protect. But as a Gladiator, I had access to protect even when capped at level 14 or so during Fates. So either my stats were higher as a Gladiator, or Gladiators have lower level requirement for using protect from Conjurer.

If you hover over the skills, it says what classes/jobs can use them.

Edit: Apparently I need to lrn2read. That's pretty interesting.

Huh, that's interesting... They're going to need to add some sort of information base to the tooltips, or else planning builds is going to be impossible before cap.
