It's been announced that they're finally giving it an offline mode. I've not researched it enough to see when they're rolling this out, but it's supposed to be soon. So to get ready for this, I've fired it back up and I've been playing a region to give myself a refresher. I've got my own region going now and just started on the arcology. It's more fun now than I remember. They've fixed a lot and added a few things.

Will any of you give it another go once it goes offline?

I recently purchased it from Amazon on sale +5 dollars off for the editor's list discount. I played it for 10 minutes just to get it all installed. Probably going to fire it up again later.

I'd be in, I suppose. For a few days, anyways.

I can just see the community now.

"Hey, EA is updating SimCity with an offline mode!"
"Bout time, I might play it now."
"Hey, let's make cities in the same region!"
"OK"
*proceeds to play game online anyway*

The way I understand it, the offline mode is single player. Like all the preceding SimCities.

my biggest complain with the game was the cities are too small. By the time I get a city to the point I can actually do something with it I run out of room. It was also a pain to try and send money from city to city.

I got the game free when I upgraded my motherboard. I haven't played it for several months.

Yep this was my problem as well Fronglo. I think that the buildings scale vs map size is a problem too. have you seen the size of the stadiums? They take up a **** ton of room way out of wack. I don't think they will make the maps any bigger, I seen something where they say they cant I cant remember the reason(maybe something with the programming?) I haven't played in a while. While the game is enjoyable like you say by the time you get to put down some good stuff you've run out of room. That's the main reason I don't play it anymore, and I have loved all the sim cities since they came out.

Let's be real, that's definitely not true.

They lied their asses off with this game, which may ultimately kill the series.

I really wish they hadn't ****** this reboot up so badly.

I know it probably not true, im just stating what I seen somewhere. I mean previous sim cities were vast and large. I remember some maps where it took a very long time to fill up with buildings and such. Then you just destroyed an area and put up one of those self sustaining cities Smiley: smile

But the building scale is way off for sure. I know thy want to show the time they spent on the graphics of the building but not what im looking for in a Sim City....

They couldn't for the online version, because making the maps any bigger would have cased lag. Or something.

If they're adding an offline mode, then they have no excuse and could totally increase the map size.

There is a built in excuse of not wanting offline mode being different from online mode. Not a particularly convincing excuse, but tends to be a pretty standard go-to one.

sucks that they sort of ruined sim city. It's not the kind of game where I really give a fig about graphics.

I fired it up again this evening after patching for a few hours and started a new city in a public region. My population quickly jumped into the 20k range, then dropped back down to 7k for no apparent reason.

**** this game.

SinCity 4 got there first. I don't know whose idea it was to have a car driving mini game in a game where the cars are so abstract and representational they keep ******* disappearing all the time, but they - well, I just hope that was the worst decision they've made.

Citizenry moved away due to lack of Broadband infrastructure within the city limits.

It's a spam post advertising a French game retailer, but yeah Titanfall is awesome.
