Somewhat related, the Kickstarter for the Dark Souls Board game started today and already made 5x its goal of $70k. The game is 1-4 players, and features enemies and bosses from all 3 games.

Tempted just for the miniatures even if I would never play it and I don't collect miniatures.

Seems that the miniatures will only be 1 1/4" (32mm) in size, which is smaller than what I expected. Well I wasn't expecting action figures, but they should be at least 2" tall.

I'm getting seriously deep at this point on my highest level, about level 60 atm on my STR toon about half way through I think. Character is rock solid doing well with the occasional wtf that was dirty From moment or new mob type. Got several alts in the 20-30's. So I decided tonight to roll another alt to ***** around since I was tired. Love me some alting.

You should finish the game at least once, then use an alt to go after the other endings. How many of the infusion coals have you found yet?

They switched the stretch goals layout from text to Bandai Namco approved images of the final product, so you should take a look. 3 Alonne Knight Captains and 2 Crystal Lizards, along with cards and spinners have now been unlocked, with Four Kings being next. Also 3 Dragon add-ons have been unlocked (Gaping, Guardian, and Kalameet) which are 15cm in size. The current "Retailer Only" Add-Ons are Last Giant, Manus, and Executioner's Chariot (at 200 Retailer backers).

All of them I think? I respeced my highest guy last night dropped my vitality to default 11 which freed up a ton of points for vigor and endurance. Swapped my mostly STR (38) to a balance of STR/DEX. for something like:

Vigor 26
End 26
STR 28
Dex 28

All a bit higher now since I got a few levels after. Then I forged a refined (Quality) longsword +6 and put on assassin set, chain helm + Shield of Want with a compound bow.
Holy Shinballs! My character is way stronger now. I was finding I barely used any of my uber str weapons like great ax or black knight ax because they are too dang slow. The great shields I was just not digging the look. So I was using my medium shields and heavy dark sword +6 anyway since most mob fights are: look for opening STUN LOCK until out of stam, (if needed/giant mob)roll/block away, repeat.

AR on longsword is almost as high as the dark sword it uses less stam and now I have health and stamina for days. As long as I am rolling under 70% I can barely tell the difference so all of that Vitality was a waste stat to me for most of my armor. It seems like having more HP to soak is more effective than heavy armor to me by far. As I push into the end 1/3 of the game we will see how it holds up but in the zone I am in I have gone from: "crap crap crap it 2 shot me" to "get some lololol I wrekt you ithryll guard guy.

Good times.

Git gud ******** Here is my git gud story where I felt the magic and was touched in my naughty feelz:

I'm doing some sunbro work on Pontiff on my quality long sword guy. Not because I need too I have like 50 embers and 50 sunbro medals. I was just buzzed up and having fun.

I get summoned. I see a red just wailing into the host. I immediately engage. He does not like how it is going and makes a run for it. I pursue. I catch him right after he estuses and he starts turtling up hard. Oh I got you now son. I use longsword r2 skill and scoop his shield sending him staggering. It's over for him now snicker snack I vorpal sword his last half a life bar.

I run back to the host who flops emote on the ground in exhaustion. The red totally had him before he panicked summoned me. He did not even help me fight the red he was so freaked out. After he calmed down we proceed to pwn the boss. I was born a sunbro, and I will die a sunbro.

So far I have killed the following bosses/mini-bosses:

Deacons of the Deep aka The Congregation 2.0
Crystal Sage aka Pinwheel 2.0
Stray Demon (glitched into a non-moving state and arrowed to death)
Fire Demon (second verse same as the first)
Curse-Rotted Greatwood
Vordt of the Boreal Valley aka Sif/RRA 2.0
Generic Armored Humanoid aka Tutorial Boss #5a

Do those tar snakes that grow from G.A.H. and a random enemy get explained later in the game?

Not so far as I know. Maybe ENB will figure it out. I'm alting a bit again because I don't want to finish. But I got to a place yesterday that made me kind of emo. Not sure why but I was just like "This is not right, get out of here you new mobs you don't belong here!" I'm not going to spoil tag it because it won't have meaning until you see it. But once you do you will get it.

Also holy crap faith build alt blows so far. I mean in one sense it's nice to have some h o t 's on top of the estus. But when I got lightning spear finally I was very excited until I cast it and it does less damage than a non upgraded crossbow. Also there are **** for holy weapons. I'm trying to go spear/halberd to stick with the class style of Herald. I used a halberd all the way until I got my first holy spear. I upgraded it to +4 and it does less damage than the halberd + 3...

They need to patch in some diversity here. Also sorry Pol I was wrong spells suck too after midgame. I'm hoping some patching works some of that out becuase estoc and straight swords pretty much dominate right now. I love both those weapons but I want to enjoy variety as well.

You think they would buff Lightning Spear again after they nerfed the hell out of it in DS2? Most likely Faith in this game will only be for Fire and Dark spells/weapons.

I just don't get it. I mean magic and faith both require you to basically split primary stats harder in order to be mediocre, but it's worse than mediocre. It's just straight up bad. All you need is vig, end, str, and dex and you will rock the **** out of everything.

I know I am whining a bit here because my quality guy is like a golden god and I can pretty much finish the game as soon as I want, but replay value is important to me and I like trying all the builds. It's early though maybe Trusty Patches will fix it. You can always trust Patches right?
