I like Scotch better than Bourbon. One small bottle still lasts like half a year with me, if I drink "much". I rely more on beer ale and cider (and similar drinks).

For G&T's (because straight gin is weird), I use Gordon's usually.

Also, I believe whisky = Scotch, while whiskey = bourbon and that stuff they make in Ireland. Smiley: schooled

Also, quitting smoking feels horrible. Seriously. I have gone about 24 hours without a cigarette now, though, so I suppose it's too late to change my mind without feeling really weak.

Keep up the no smoking effort.

As for Gin I prefer to martini it up, with a dirty martini.

Also a nice whiskey is always good.

We had ToC as the raid weekly this week. Got me some new boots.

Scotch Whisky, Irish Whiskey, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Jim Beam), Tennessey Whiskey (Jack Daniels) - All the same yet very different.

Whisky on Wikipedia

It is fantastic that the word whisky is derived from the Irish Gaelic "uisce beatha" and Scottish Gaelic "uisge beatha" which means literally "water of life". Makes a lot of sense to me :)

Oh and apparently it can be spelt Whisky or Whiskey. Wikipedia adds the e to Irish and American Whiskies which probably makes a bit of sense with the strong Irish Catholic roots in the USA. That and the fact that you Americans seem to like bastardising the spelling of proper English! Smiley: grin

And can I add this is a much more suitable topic of conversation on the Druid forum than discussing Priest healing mechanics!! Smiley: wink

Now you reminded me, I outDPS'd Aeth's druid by about 10% of damage done in Mara earlier. He did outDPS everyone else, but not this holy priest!

I suppose the druid boards are partly to blame for his respec, lowering his DPS and stuff.

Horse, go to the rogue forums and vote/post in my poll, please.

Well, any of you others are welcome to vote, too. I'm needing some opinions.

Live with the queue, embrace the awesome that follows.

That is all.

Sorry, doll, but 30-minute queues makes me very sadface, especially since I suffer from random disconnects (and an overall sh*tty connection from here to the EU logon servers).
queues is a recent problem, it suddenly appeared at the start of the year, no clue what Blizzard did to be honest.
I hope they'll solve it soon though as we only had a 1-300 queue on wednesdays when there was new content released and the occasional ~100 queue on other wednesdays/sundays.
And some lag on wednesdays in raids, but that's mostly 25 mans anyway.

Also, there's like.. me and Kalivha and a bunch of other pretty cool people.
And Devz once he starts playing again.

I tried to quit smoking. I gained 7 kilos in 3 weeks(I dont know wtf is a pound, I`m brazilian). I got back to smoke, 3 cigarretes a day. I lost 9 kilos.
I`m fine now.

If I recall correctly, a pound is about half a kilo.
#1564 Jan 21 2010 at 7:46 AM Rating: Good
I recently lost over a stone (7 kilos) and while I don't really want to gain it again, it wouldn't be too dramatic if that happened. I'm fairly relaxed about my weight, I used to be an anorexic teenager, I can't afford to dwell on it too much.

As for my quitting strategies, the last time I took months decreasing the amount I smoked until a pack of Marlboro Silvers lasted me about 3-4 days, then went on the nicorette inhaler for like 6 weeks, and in the end started smoking again after 4 months because I was stuck for hours on a bloody airport, just having paid an unexpected €300, with a suitcase full of cigarettes. I quit to move to England because smoking is ridiculously expensive here and started again just before my flight here. @#%^ing stupid.

This time, I am just pretty much out of tobacco - I'd probably have had enough old super-dry awful tobacco to last me the week until I have money, but I woke up yesterday and decided to just throw it away. I have the inhaler somewhere but couldn't locate it when I looked, so I'm suffering the full withdrawal this time, and it is worse than withdrawing from anything else at least mentally. And I have the munchies. Got to go downstairs now, I want noodles.

PS: Sleeping loads makes the first few days a lot more bearable. Also, talking to people (Aeth) on Vent/Skype. I suggest you take a few days off or do it on the weekend.

€dit: 1 kilo is 2.2 pounds.

According to Google: 1 pound = 0.45359237 kilograms

I've quit smoking a few times, and while people tell me that if you start again then you didn't really quit, I like to think I did. I quit because the thought of smoking no longer appealed to me. I began again because the appeal returned.

I will never quit smoking because people tell me too, something I remind people of daily. If I quit for good, it's because I want to, whether because I begin to value my health higher or because other factors play in (like getting a child or such).

There's nothing more annoying (and it happens all the time) than some asshat coming up to me while I'm having a smoke, asking me if I'm aware that smoking causes lung cancer, and if I've decided to quit yet. Cars kill more people daily than cigarettes. Have you stopped using them yet?

I'm trying to quit. What sucks is I'm so conditioned when I'm driving to have a smoke and that's honestly the worst part seeing as I drive quite a bit during the day.

I smoked my last ciggarette on my way to work this morning, and I also left my authenticator at home, so I can't check my auctions this morning at work :(

Arex, you just have to put on your best pair of boots and kick Pavlov's ***. You can do it!

Aethien or Kalivha, could you please find out who's using my name on Kazzak and beat the sh*t out of him?

Guild got first wing of ICC down yesterday. Airship battle is pretty pretty boring. Like...I literally fell asleep during it untill someone yelled my name on vent to move out of missile thing on ground.
I had to change my specc to include Typhoon. I went ahead and changed it to include Gale Winds too (meh, there you go Arex, did what you said in the other thread). Last boss fight on that wing in kinda cool. Too bad that half the fight I`m Typhooing (woohoo created a word!) and Rooting things. But its a cool fight for me, nevertheless. At least, a change of pace.
After that, we went back to ToC25 Heroic mode. Got beasts after 2 attempts, got Jaraxx to 20% 2 times and we called it.
And I`m not the last dps anymore, wich is quite good, since I was away for 3 months. I`m not the top notch either, but I`m happy at 9th with 6k dps.

Arex, if you are having trouble quitting, the inhaler helps loads. I got weird toothaches from it after a while, and I'm trying to be all hardcore this time, but it does make it much easier.

Mazra, your name as in Mazra, or something else? Also, did you transfer or make a new character?

Yes, my name as in Mazra. Some bastid stole it, but I can't find him/her in the Armory, so either it's a very old account (one of mine?) or some schmuck has broken the game.

I've created a Paladin, but I'm thinking of transferring a toon. Won't be until after the 1st of February since my SU (state education grant) doesn't tick in until then. Oh, oh, help me pick a char! Hunter, Shaman, Mage or Warrior (DPS)? Tired of playing the healing/tanking game so I'm leveling up some DPS. They're in their 70's, though, except the Mage (36), but I take it you'll be there by February anyway.

13 minute Gun'drak with 22k hp at lvl76 (buffed). I'm loving it so much.
#1572 Jan 21 2010 at 10:57 AM Rating: Good
Hmm, DPS is perfect since Aeth is tanking and I am healing. I'd say hunter spontaneously but most of our guildies seem to be hunters or pallies. I'll tell Aeth to post what he thinks. :3

I am on my lock (Amyloidosis) right now because I'm just idling, most of the time I'm on Kalivha/priest, and Aeth's druid is Estasan so just /w one of us and we can possibly find someone to invite you to the guild etc.

From my experience, Enhance is cool to play, can't say anything about mages or warriors and hunter dps is awesomesauce.
Just transfer/relevel whatever you enjoy playing the most Smiley: tongue

Also, I'm likely to be playing Æthien (hunter), Abïgail (priest), Chthonic (Shaman), Estasan (druid) or Ashborne (warrior). Smiley: grin
Most likely Æth or Esta, the rest doesn't see too much action.

Edit: I haven't ever seen a Mazra on Kazzak, shame it's taken :(

Yup. I have.

I spent a year working at a medical examiner's (coroner's) office. That was quite eye-opening when it came to just how amazingly destructive cars are. If cars were a miracle drug that cured all cancer, they would still be too dangerous to get past the government in the USA.

It took a few years to get there, but living in a big city where driving a car isn't a daily necessity is a great thing. AND, it makes the casual use of the aforementioned gin much easier.

Meh, living in a big city is just as unhealthy as smoking. And there's no delicious nicotine in it.

If we really wanted to make cars safe we'd mount a big 'ol sharpened spear on the steering wheel. That way you'd be impaled if you so much as tapped another car. :p

Watched my Grandpa die of lung cancer at 10, and was cured of any desire to smoke at that point. I didn't want to die that way.
