Which makes your target bar really out of the way, doesn't it?

Also, Grid doesn't do transparency at all, unfortunately - as soon as my coursework load is a bit lighter and I got more sleep, I might set out to come up with my own raidframes because there are none out there that are satisfying. I'd like to do something like Grid but with transparency options, pretty much, which isn't really possible with the Grid code.
What you can do is scale the centre icon down a bit. And make your Grid a bit larger, perhaps, if you heal.

Um, on topic! I like SexyCooldowns. Having all the cooldowns on one bar makes life easier... no searching in a giant list for when something is going to be ready.

Yes it does. But at this point I'm primarily setting it up for healing. It's mostly there as a 'heads-up', and not something I'd be clicking on, since I'd be doing all of that with grid.

However I'd also like it to be functional for tanking as well, since I'll do a little of both. Perhaps having it right below center instead of right above? Any suggestions? *shrugs* Trying to find something that works well for both without having to shuffle around a bunch addons is proving difficult.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. I like how I can get badkitty to show the OoC proc as partly transparent, and was hoping I could get grid to do something similar. But good ideas, I'll try to adjust the scaling.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'd never actually do that, but fantasising is allowed, right?

So, did anyone in your lab actually do anything of the sort, ever? It does seem incredibly stupid.

And I'm still wearing my sweater from yesterday. It should now have acetone, diethylether, HCl(aq) and NaOH(aq) stains (stains?) on it. Now figure out what I've been doing the last two days.

As for UI's, I suggest heading over to the priest forums and my Grid thread and looking at some of the ones posted there - I obviously prefer the sort of positioning of stuff I use (which is pretty close to Aeth's setup), but I like Mozared's arrangement of stuff, too, and I believe a good part of it can be applied to druid healing.

Actually, since I'm teaching Nature/Tech and Physics/Chemistry... yes, yes it does.

So long as everybody stays away from the Dihydrogen Monoxide, you'll be fine. A lungful of that stuff'll kill ya.

Edit: Ye gods, when did my premium run out? O.o;

Agreed I'd been watching that thread a little too. That 10man setup is nice. I'm crazily attached to Grid and the way it tracks HoTs at this point though. Either way, I'll have to make some changes tonight. Plenty to work on before raid! :D

Well that is if anyone shows up, we had 5 show up for our last 10-man... *rolls eyes*

This. There are many things about Grid I don't like, but I won't give it up because of these sorts of things.

That being said, I really want to try and figure out if I can somehow incorporate Grid's indicators into Pitbull, it would make the world a better place. I've focused on other aspects of Grid before and that didn't lead to anything productive and I've simply got too much going on at the moment to be able to look at it for more than a few minutes. The weekend should be better.
Hell, I haven't even logged into WoW since Tuesday, and it's certainly not because I don't feel like playing.

oh hai...

Ok...so...working 40+ hours a week, taking two college courses online, trying to buy a house, wife's car broke down (1k to fix), had to go to the hospital, found out I had PVC's (Premature Ventricular Constrictions), bill collectors calling and had to break my addiction to WoW so I could actually have a social life again between all this happening.

But I do miss everyone.

Am I the one who really dislike things like Clicke or Healbot or Grid or whatever?
I dunno, I`m really happy with Pitbull, it pretty much does whatever I need.

Hiya Galen, long time no see!

Brisin, how do you have Pitbull set up? I've found it to be a bit overwhelming myself, but I've only been using it for about 1 week, and know little about it.

I just like the simple, yet elegant setup for grid. I can track my 4 HoTs (color-coded for time remaining), health + mana/rage/etc bars, and major debuffs for the whole raid; all in a package that takes up very little space on my UI. Hence my addiction.. ;-)

I dislike Healbot. I really dislike VuhDo. I use Clique for dispelling, and I can't get rid of Grid even with all the annoyances because the only other thing with the same kind of functionality I was able to find was Grid2, which has exactly the same downsides but is much less intuitive to configure. Thus I want to modify Pitbull to do what I want. :P

Here and here is my ui on normal mode.

Here is what looks like in a raid. Its kinda wonky cause its the way Pitbull shows when you put the edit mode. So...group 6, 7 and 8 its usually hidden. When I do have to worry about them, I just move them together with the other groups. Sometimes I have Focus and Focus target showing too. I configured them really really small cause I use them mostly for macro purposes when healing.
Btw, I rarelly heal 25 mans. Only 5 and, sometimes, 10 man. Thats why I can have the groups there in the middle. Help me seeing who is being targeted (they get red), who is getting damaged, keeps me seeing things in middle and on what I'm standing on.
This is the BW in configuration mode. But you can see where things appears, like proximity, emphasized messages, etc...

Here is what it looks like in party setup.

Ps. the party screenshot has a bonus for whoever cares to read the chat!
Ps2. since I only raid Wednesdays, I'll try to take a SS next week while raiding...

edit:
Took this while healing just now. You can see Omen way up there.

Ugh looking at all these screen-shots makes me think I need something bigger than a 12" x 12" monitor. :p

That hunter was 2nd in damage done while doing melee Brisin? Ouch...

Anyway thanks for the pics. It is great to see how other people are setting things up. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing. Didn't play with things too much last night, raid went long. I managed to plug in OmniCC though. Sexymap, and converting the UI into something useful for tanking are steps for this weekend I guess.

I think that if I had to try to play in a 12'' x 12'' I would cry. Like a recent born baby.

That's probably your problem right there. Even if you have the best UI of all times....12'' just isnt made to play WoW. Mine is 22'' and I sometimes wish it was 32''...
#1694 Jan 29 2010 at 12:12 PM Rating: Good
Wait, 12"x12" is like... 16.5", right? They do use the diagonal for that, I think?

In that case, it's slightly larger than mine and I think about the same size of Aeth's monitor and we manage just fine.

If you look at Ensidia screenies, that's a completely different matter. They all raid super high res, and stuff.

Also, I think I'm getting my 17" screen back soon, hopefully. 2" make a hell of a difference. :/

Goodness I don't know. It's Friday, I don't do math on Fridays. :p

It's 12" from the far left to the far right, and from top to bottom. I don't remember if the screen is slightly smaller than that or not. It's not really a problem, like you said. It just means I can clutter the screen faster if I'm not careful.

My wife has the 16" wide screen on her laptop, and I envy how much easier it makes tanking for her. She can see those adds coming, while I pan my camera around looking for them.

It just makes you appreciate a minimalist UI more.

I just found something else I can hide in my UI, actually. If I ever get a really large monitor, I'm hopefully gonna stick to this and have more pretty world to look at.

24inch widescreen here - I love having so much space. Although you do get used to it quickly and now i'm eyeing one of the Dell 30inch monitors and wondering if I can justify it :)

I saw a druid using Claw, at level 80, in H VH tonight.

I yelled at him and gave him some rotation pointers.

His DPS went up.

That was my good dead for the year.

Yes.

I did.

The plants on my lanai need fertilizer.

I have no regrets.
