Yeah, I noticed when I was in Denmark, sort of.
I was not sure how far the similarities went (I'm still not), but I like Facebook because I can pester Mazra to teach me a bit of Danish on there, and he is unfortunately the only person who teaches me not so nasty Danish - with my other Danish guys, stuff like hold kæft (you should be able to guess this) is part of the nice, polite things they teach me.
The issue is that no matter whether I want to learn Danish or Norwegian (with the latter making much less sense for me personally at the moment), I can gain no official UK qualification in either. Nor in Swedish. I don't know what is wrong with the British system. You can get college level qualifications in lots of languages I'd never even heard of before getting info on the exams. Just nothing sufficiently Scandinavian, even though that's where all the British people migrate nowadays. I hate this system, occasionally. Most of the time it is brilliant since it has enabled me to do 3 language courses on top of my science studies.
