That's better than the ones I linked, still not stellar though.
Looking fashionable really doesn't have to be expensive, Levi's are cheap and good (501, 511, 514 are the ones you want I think, based on bodyshape), Uniqlo is cheap and good for OCBD's (oxford cloth shirts) and they've got good sweaters as well, basic t-shirts and under shirts from I think Target (Mossimo brand) are good and cheap, the CDB's I linked on the last page are usually under $100 and will last you ages as they're super simple shoes, they're also great business casual shoes with jeans, cords or chinos (olive, navy & khaki coloured at least) etc. It's not like you need tons of those either, 2 jeans and 2 or 3 chinos gets you a long way and 6 or 7 button down shirts isn't a terrible expense either and if you're smart about which colours you buy it requires next to no thought in the morning.
Oh and should you ever feel like spending big money on shoes, Red wing
Beckman's or
Iron Rangers are great boots that will last an eternity and then some so at $300 they're pretty good value for money. They have the added bonus of being steel toed as well although that's probably not much of an advantage in a lab.
