For those who don't own a Roccat device (headphones, keyboard, mouse, etc.), their software comes with statistics and achievements functionality. Mouse scrolls, key strokes, etc. When you reach a certain amount, you "win" a trophy, and the software runs a "Congratulations, you've won a trophy!" audio notification. Maximum volume. Damn near fell out of my chair.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, not even the notification just the achievements for your keyboard/mouse thing.

Edit: also Spotify.

Where do you find this stuff? It's like we don't even live in the same solar system.

It's the small things in life that makes it interesting, right? Like your keyboard software trolling you...

Anyway, I thought it was some damn pop-up and instinctively reached out to press Ctrl-W to close the tab. New keyboard is new, so instead I hit all kinds of macro buttons and activated a dozen Windows 8 "applications" - I understand this is what kids and marketing people from software companies call computer programs these days.

Good lord.

I just went with the Razer keyboard instead. I'm assuming that won't yell at me.

Don't assume. Smiley: sly

I considered a Razer, but they only had mechanical keyboards, and I really don't like mechanical keyboards. This one is pretty noisy as it is, and I don't need my neighbors keeping track of my keyboard strokes. Having my driver software do it is enough. I just turned off the trophy notifications.

Keyboard better be amazing for $200.

For the people that'll pay that kind of price.

That looks like such a pain in the *** to teach myself to use.

Not to mention that I hate mechanical keyboards, too, they're so goddamn loud.

If you review the button options you'll see they have a variety of options for the mechanical keys, and some of them are not loud.

I have used something similar, and while there is obviously a learning curve, your hands learn the keys pretty quickly.

I'm happy with my Sidewinder, thanks. It glows pretty colors and goes great with my red-themed PC.

Their response time isn't so great; it's left me looking for other alternatives.

A small fridge next to your desk? That way response time doesn't have to be so good as you can call in refreshments ahead of time.

It's a shame Gaston Lagaffe has never been translated into English, it's a comic about an office clerk who goes to some extreme lengths to sleep on the job in between inventing things and ruining the office in various ways.

There's enough overachievers on the interwebs to assure that some of the strips have been translated to probably every language imaginable. Saying that, did a quick search and found a few and they were pretty good.

They're brilliant and Franquin is one of the pillars of the Franco-Belgian comics of the last century (his work spanning from 1946-1996). I know there are at least some fan translations of Ideés Noires (Dark Thoughts) out there but I don't know about the many Spirou et Fantasio or Gaston Lagaffe albums.
