I was a Night Elf druid. Your Wrath spell has a very long casting time but low cooldown time and manna cost, it is nature based magic and it packs your strongest punch, in pvp you only get one off before engaged or you can use it to hit an enemy that is not directly attcking you. However when you cast it you get a very noticeable green glow around you head and hands and it can be interupted easy.
The druids ******* also gets a spell called starfire and later moonfire, these spell have a very fast casting time and cool down time, they burn very little mana, pack a decent punch and have good range.
In a pack of approaching hoard you can starfire an approaching warrior at least 4 times before he engages you, it is a pure magic spell so do not use it on mages because of possible magic risistance and if the target saves on your first blast just redirect it to another target.
You should be able to put in 200 points of damage into your target before he closes with you at that point change into a cat and get out of there , heal and come back and find another starfire target.
Healing:
The druids heal spell is a very slow casting spell,it has a fast cool down and you can almost chain heal if that is your role in the party but it does use alot of manna and you can find yourself drained of manna quickly in a heated battle.
If you are attcked don't ever try to heal yourself except with a potion.
Change form and disengage from the combat circle the flanks find a magic user change into a bear and get him or heal slowly advance back into the fray and use your starfire again.
Another spell to help you escape is a root type of spell you can cast on yourself, there is a % chance anybody hitting you triggers it and they become ensnared.
Fighter can break this ensnarement if they are aware to do it , but other classes get hung up. Then just back up and starfire them over and over The druid also gets a Thorns damage shiels spell use it to your advantage to sap away hp's of your attacker while you change into animal form or finish him with starfire spells. Warrior can stun you so don't go toe to toe with one if you can escape insted and blast him from a distance.
Shapeshifting: The druids shape shifting has a very quick cool down time so you can go from druid to cat , run away , back to druid , star fire 3 times , shift back to cat if you want to runn away or shift to bear if you feel you can finish the job.
Oh also for healing druids have a fast spell called regeneration, it takes decent manna but can heal you over time quick.
They can also reincarnate.
My pvp battle tactics

So inconclusion to druids I feel they have alot of things going for them in PVP and PVE.
Damage shield
Entangle
Root
Healing capability and regenration.
Starfire Moonfire rapid casting and cool down spell
Animal forms
The druid is one PVP character that can last out the battle
and live to fight another day.
My druid is also an herbalist and alchemist, so popping a regeneration potion for a quick health and manna pickme up
is also available.
In PVE when the druid gets his root spell he can do very well solo.
Or at least this is what I did and how it worked for me
When this game goes retail , I am definately doing a NE Druid again, they are also a fun class to play.
