from wowvault.ign.com~

Strength- Adds to your Attack Power, Damage-Per-Second (DPS). Strength does not affect Critical Hit chances at all. Strength does not improve your chance to block, but rather the amount blocked when you succeed. This amount is determined in part by Strength (and the other part by your shield).

Agility- Increases all characters' chance to Critical Hit. The amount of the bonus is higher per point on Rogues than other classes. Agility affects dodge. Rogues get more Dodge per point of Agility than other classes. Agility adds directly to Defense.

my question~

Is it a good assumption that this applies to ranged weapons? I just notice that hunters get +3 agility but +nothing to strength... makes me wonder if str affects ranged damage.

I'll refer you to an earlier post...

Blizz, on the WoW community site has stated explicitly how strength and agility play into the damage ranged or melee.

Sum up for our hunters:
Ranged damage is based solely on agility.
Melee damage is 50/50 agility and strength.

I don't know if anyone has done any independent testing to verify that this is the case. It might be worthwhile to browse the hunter forum at the WoW community site.

In fact, it's time I go browse the new posts.
