I have a few questions for one that is considering specing balance later on. Now I have had an interest in balance for a long time. Currently I'm a 61 feral druid and I love it because of the little to no down time. I tried playing balance back when I was around 52-55, but found it extreemly difficult to play because I am not much of a fan of drinking every 3 kills. Maybe I was doing something wrong when trying to kill, not sure.
What I'm curious about is, how much downtime do you leveling balance druids typically have? Obviously feral is the way to go when grinding and all that cause its swift and practially a no brainer at points. But I primarily solo and if I were to become a moonkin, I think I would have a hard time doing so. I loved playing my balance druid when she was in an instance. I could heal the group along with doing worthwhile dps while in the back row. Do you guys solo alot or end up grouping more when you level? How often do you use your other forms, like bear and cat? Are there any general tips when trying to solo?
I'm fairly sure around 66 or 68 I'm going to try balance again. That way I can be more group friendly as a healer/ranged dps'r. But ideas would be nice. Also, gear-wise, is spell damage+ or +spell crit a better choice?
Lots of quests, so sorry there, just trying to understand from those of you that walk the path. ^^ Thank you for any answers you can give!!
Ok heres how I do it. Solo-ing in moonkin is great now. I could go for 6-8 fights without having to drink while in moonkin. You have to remember to take advantage of that armor. If the enemy gets up close dont root and run! If your low on maa take advantage from your mana regen ability with your melee hits. Still got alot of mana left? Well with wrath you can avoid most pushbacks and you have two other instant casts to help you out.
As for spell dmage or spell crit, I would go with spell damage all the way. I mean your crit automatically rises when your damage output rises. Plus crits doesnt happen all the time. So going with spell damage seems like alot better choice to go with.
Well hoped that helped. Goodluck with your moonkin and dont forget about the treants!
