All depends on your play style do you like to have something to take damage for you while you drop dots and watch or do you want to nuke a target to death before he even reaches you plus mages can solo pretty dang good especially frost mages aoe grinding ftw if you are more group oriented though i would go for mage ive been in groups where they boot the lock thats 3 levels higher than me just to have a mage. Mages also have free food and water free mana pots essenctially and they can pwn in pvp though not as much as locks. A good mage can out dps a lock if they do the right stuff this includes aoe damage of course. Basicly if you want to solo roll a lock if you want to do group instances and stuff go for mage.

I'd argue that mages have better DPS than a lock if they're set up right; Specially the farther you go down the line... since all confrontations will mainly be about Burst DPS over 30-60 seconds; which a mage can easily handle without going OOM.

Warlocks have sheer survivability on their side; they're sorta like... rogues... they will never run out of mana in most situations. >_< Warlocks have sheer utility as well.

I've had alot of fun on my mage; same with my lock- at the end of the day I love my mage; since about any day I can out damage most people. Locks are fun because they are always the thorn in everyone's side. :D

I mean; you know that warrior you blindsided on your lock just went "Oh ^$@@!".

You asked this in the Warlock section of Forums....I'm pretty sure i know what answers your going to get...

I would try general forums, or your faction.

Locks>Mages
