Hi All,

I'm a noob and just got my warlock up to lvl32. I'm full affliction build as seeing other threads it looks like afflic is best for grinding. My question is that I have read alot of other locs saying that they can fire and forget mobs and can deal with up to 4 mobs at once. I must be doing something wrong so would appreciate a bit of advice on this. Currently with mobs I do:

Single mob:
Send in VW, Imol, CoA, Corr, life tap twice, drain health, drain soul. This usually finishes off a single mob and I get 15% of my mana back with soul drain at the end.

I can deal with 2 mobs ok by getting the VW to aggro both and then concentrate on the one the VW is hitting.

I struggle as soon as I get 3 mobs though. Start to panic and try to fear one and then go back to the 2 mob ploy which doesn't seem to work very well. I have got away with this but I end up with very little health and mana. I also find that even with 70% avoid interruption I still can't get drain health off if someone hitting me. How do you advanced locs deal with 3+ mobs??

Many thanks for your help. :-)

I dont usually fight 4 or more mobs at once but what I do is fight them 1 after 1 after 1 after 1 after 1 .... I usually doesnt need to stop unless I wanted too or I saw an ally somewhere. I'm thinking is they dont agro them all at the same time but they cast DoT's to evrything on sight then insta-cast Howl of Terror and drain life on 1 or 2 and wand the rest.

You VS 3. Kill stuff 2 levels below yours. Your VW attacks first don't open with ammo this will make u build agro fast. Name the mobs 1,2,3, where mob 1 is one your VW is mainly tanking.

First, let your VW attack mob1, then cast corr, CoW, siphon on that order, this will make your VW has advantage over mob 1 ,but will not make you gain agro.
Then move to mob2 cast CoA, corr, siphon.
then switch to mob 3 and life tap once, immolate, CoA, corr, siphon and fear.
Switch to mob 2, immo, sear of pain, lifetap, fear
switch back to mob1 and recast corr.
now mob3 is in your with 1/3 of his life remaining, recast cor and drian tank him.
Between the 3 active corr and drain life you have a very good chance to get a NF use it if chance arrives.
Switch back to mob 2, lifetap and depending on how low his life is you can drain life or drain soul.
as for mob 1, drain soul or recat corr and fear rank 1 and drain soul rank 1 all that would depend on the life left on mob1 and your VW.

You should finish this fight with relatively low mana and high health. While your VW consume shadow, you can life tap and use first aid bondage to geat ready for round 2. i also like the effect of cooked sage fish to reduce waiting time.

Three isn't a problem, and it's not quite as complicated as zigamore is saying.

You said you use the VW to hold the aggro of both the mobs, attacking the one the blueberry is attacking. You basically do the same thing, only with three. DoT it up, then stick the voidwalker on the second one. Fear the first, then dot up the second.

Fear it off, dot up the third. If the first mob's coming towards you after fear's gone, wand the stupid thing to death. It shouldn't have too much health left.

I find I'm able to take on four same level mobs (1-2 levels higher) without wiping. Don't forget your Sacrifice, either.. if the voidwalker's about to die anyways, it will give you a few moments to regain your bearings.

With siphon life up your sleeve, this should get even easier. A HoT-DoT, as well as the extra damage, should serve you well.

My reccomendation is pick up a good wand. It's mana-free damage, and will often out-dps your other spells after dots are up. Your mana also will regen while you wand something, which I really like. I've got 1.7k mana at level 27, 1k health. I don't think I've ever been below half mana since I hit 1k, and I'm never taking on one mob at a time.

Note.. it's always a better idea to chain kill. Dot, fear.. move to the next one. It's safer than four at once. But it's entirely possible to win out if you make a bad pull. Most I've done is five. Six? I'm out in about four seconds. Damn you, cloth.

Take note that the guys taking four mobs at a time are probably level 70 with lots of Spell Damage.

You don't have to take mobs lower level than you. I can take mobs 1-2 levels higher than me (Level 70). I can take up to 5/6 mobs at once and end with approx. 90% + health and mana. This is what I do<:

1) Unstable Affliction > Curse of Agony > Siphon Life > Corruption
2) Unstable Affliction > Curse of Agony > Siphon Life > Corruption
3) Unstable Affliction > Curse of Agony > Siphon Life > Corruption
4) Unstable Affliction > Curse of Agony > Siphon Life > Corruption
5) Unstable Affliction > Curse of Agony > Siphon Life > Corruption > Instant Howl of Terror

It does take some time to make sure each mob is dotted up, but it is alot faster than 1 at a time.

70% resist Interuption is actually really good 7/10 hits won't affect you, but you have like 3 guys pounding the crap out of you. You need good gear with alot of hp and mana to do this. Spell Damage is important if all 4 dots still cannot take your target down.

Is unstable affliction really that powerful? I was only planning to go up to dark pact with afflic build so that I could get up to ruin on destruction.

What's your build doodle?

Unstable Affliction does about as much damage /tick as Corruption does. Definately better than ruin, imo.

Hey there.. When I want to speed grind with my afflic lock this is what i usually do.

Send vw to one mob, let him get argo up, CoA, Corr, Spihon Life, by this time he should have gotten his 3rd taunt/torment in. Immolate. Send him to next mob, repeat. By the time i put CoA, Corr, and SL on the next mob, the first one is running at me, and dying. I just go from one mob to the next like that. I can get through a good 15-20 mobs before I have to stop for mana/health.
