Is a lvl 29 Twink Flag runner any good?Follow

#1 Mar 27 2007 at 5:42 PM Rating: Decent
An idead struck me that everyone else has probably already thought of but it is that you could sneak into the base with cat form and run out in bear form so as not to die. Now before I go out and lvl up to 29 and spend a ton of money before finally seeing the results, I was wondering if anyone else can give me some advice to this.

Also do Druids do well at 29 in AB?

Thanks much in advance

Cat form with feline swiftness is 30% faster - that is not bad but shamans do better in that bracket (40%)

You're better off at 30-39 where you can shift out of everything and alternate between travel form and catform with feline swiftness without losing too much speed.

A cat druid does better than all but shamans in that bracket, and you'll find yourself in a fair few games without a friendly shaman.

Keep in mind though, that Shaman can't shift out of impairing effects as a druid can. This, in my eyes, makes them the better runners.

I have a 29 druid and they rock at flag running. Being tauren i can war stomp if i need to get distance from a stun/poison slowing rogue. Main problem you'll have is hunters but if you get enough HP you'll be fine. I'd stay away from being focussed on flag running because sitting in your base waiting for a load of lowbies to get your flag back is depressing. If your with friends you'll be ok though. I prefer to just do damage/go with rogues to get our flag back. Is good fun.

so I am getting mixed feelings...

besides flag running, are they good at normal fighting in WSG or AB?

I've only really seen one that had a dedicated healer, but that one does pretty good.

The 30-39 bracket is where druids really shine. My usual flag run (horde) consists of:

Rez at graveyard, shift into travel form.

Run up the side entrance towards the balcony (not the roof).

Shift to cat form and stealth once inside. Since cat form also has track humanoids, I can see how many ppl are in the flag room guarding.

At this point I usually wait for my group to cause some type of distraction to raise my chances of success.

I then drop down from the balcony, grab flag, hit sprint, then book it down the tunnel if no enemies are there.

Once outside, I switch back to travel form and run like hell towards my team members.

If the opposing side has our flag, I will shift to bear form and hold the flag as long as possible, usually with 1-2 ppl guarding me.

Repeat as necessary. =D

Cat does quite well in wsg. Shifting out of roots adn stuff is killer.

Cat form's sprint is 60%.

Dash is actually 50% @ that level. At level 46 you get dash rank two.

I'd say that druids @ 39 are better than at 29 for BG's. I remember when i was a 39 druid, all i did was carry the flag. They also do well in combat too.

They might run slightly faster, but breaking imparing stuff + sheep is much better. Druids also make better flag holders in general. Most of the extreme 29 druids i know have about 3k + health in bearform (thats with clefthide and all that other wonderfull junk).

That's right, first Dash is only 50% - still pretty darn fast.

Druids are deadly flag stealers. You got built in speed. You can shift out of roots. You can heal. You can root others, instantly by talent - or by casting.

You can shift to huge HP and AC, basically like a warrior. You can track humans in cat form. You can stealth into bases.

Even if shamans are 10% faster in ghost wolf, they can't get unstuck (except once by BG trinket). They can't click out of fear w/ trinket, and I *think* druids can.

("creak" - a box lid opens, and a disembodied hand reaches out with a note:

Quote:
Insignia of the Horde
Binds when picked up
Unique
TrinketMiscellaneous
Classes: Druid
Use: Dispels all Charm, Fear and Stun effects.
)

Oh, thank you, Thing!

Yes, indeed, druids can click out of fear. So, you got a healing root-caster (no abnormal cooldown on it) w/ three forms (4 if you count sealion for AB) - caster/healer, cat for speed and stealth and human tracking, bear for AC and HP - who can shift out of roots and etc.

You've got shaman, who heal, who can't root (but can earthbind and frost shock, and those work indoors - root doesn't - but the Shaman totem and shock are on long cooldowns) - you've got one form which is faster - but shaman can't click out of movement impairing debuffs (save once, w/ bg trinket) - and shaman can't stealth, can't track humans - and can cast water breathing - but can't go fast underwater like a druid in sealion form.

I'm sure I'm forgeting a bunch of things - but I'm angling druid over shaman for flag stealer/ flag runner. Shamans can do it. But druids, even at 29, seem to have more advantages overall - at least the way I play.

At 39 it isn't even a contest. Druids rule there.

Edit - wsg, lvl 29, you're tooling across midfield as a Shaman. Hunter concussive shoots you. You click out of it. But the warrior charges and hamstrings you. Now you're gimped and slow. They've got you. Your only hope is that you get help from your side. Or drink free action (but you already did that to steal the flag out of the heavily guarded flag room). Also free action has to be used before the snare.

Druids just plow through all that. Go from animal form to caster form and back to animal form. Zoom zoom zoom ... gone. Druids can be stopped. But it's hard.

LMAO

But as I *know* from WSG-s druids make the best runners. Almost impossible to stop if you're alone even if you're an ice mage.
