what do you guys think of this tanking build? it seems to reduce crazy damage. 5/5 strength bonus for extra block, 5/5 BoM for one handed sword damage bonus, reduction to mana cost of judgement and seal spells in order to conserve for avenger's shield. input?

also made this one for main healing/shock grinding

are these useful/typical pally builds?

a better tanking build:

Higher chance to parry is better than the miniscule block value you'll gain from Divine Strength. And white damage isn't how a paladin tank deals damage or gains aggro, it's all from holy damage through consecrate, holy shield and blessing of sanct.

Your shock build is pretty good. Though I'd dump 1 point from improved LoH (worst talent ever) into aura mastery so you can stand at max range and heal while still giving the benefit of your aura to the tank. Your level 60+ heals have a 40 yd range.

thanks for the tips on pally tanking--i don't know very much about it--i like your ideas, but i find it curious that you didn't take imp devotion aura. the damage reduction from that would be very high i think. also, there's less spell damage in the game coming at me probably than white damage, so i'm going to move the points from spell warding. you are right that parry would be a better shot than divine strength, i don't know what i was thinking. lastly, you take stun over the increased melee damage--i love stun for interrupts, i'm a rogue, but if pally damage comes from people attacking HIM then i'm going to neglect it for more damage. i'm probably going to roll with something like this:

is this better? let me know what you think.

The armor increase from improved devotion aura at 70 is only about 400. With the diminishing returns on armor this will account for a just over 1% added mitigation, not worth the 5 points.

Stoicism was added because if you get stunned as the MT you will loose aggro which is very, very bad. In instance runs and especially on bosses there is a lot of magic damage which ignores your armor value so having spell warding is pretty much a must have.

I took Improved HoJ for the faster stun times because even though you deal more damage when being beaten on, a good group can kill a mob in the 6 seconds that your mob is stunned. Pulling 2-3 mobs you can get aggro on all of them, stun one let the group burn it down, as you build more aggro on the other two simultaneously. You can reach one hell of an aggro cieling that way allowing your group to go all out without worrying about pulling aggro. The faster stun time means you should be able to do this every pull, plus it's handy for soloing and AOE grinding.
