Looking for Hunter Sim Spreadsheet testersFollow

#1 Mar 29 2007 at 10:54 AM Rating: Good
Hello,

everyone. As some of you may know, there is a spreadsheet that me have been putting out for a while now, the Hunter Simulator Spreadsheet. Have been working to get it updated for the 2.0 changes for months. As a working adult and a very active raider, it takes time to make the amount of changes that were necessary to the previous spreadsheet to bring it up to date. If things go well, those updates will be completed soon, so wanted to ask for volunteers to check it over.

Testers are looking for bugs, oddities, mistakes, etc. The damage tab will not be functional at this time so you will not get an advance working copy. The purpose of this functionality test is to try things, combinations of gear, talents, races, to verify that the numbers listed on the "Stats" tab match what you see in-game. Can not stress enough, how important that fact it because that Damage tab will use those values to predict damage. If the Stats tab is wrong, then the values generated on the Damage tab are worthless.

Do not have any current screenshots showing the Gems tab or rows for sockets, sorry. Since the following screenshots were taken, have added a Gems tab, 100+ gems, and rows for sockets. Those additions are not in any screenshots but for those interested or previous users here's a quote from the 1.12.1 thread.

Then you can pick it from the drop down list !

If you are interested in testing my spreadsheet reply here first with a link to your Armory Profile so me can add your gear into the spreadsheet before it goes out for testing and then send an email to me with the subject line "Hunter Sim Tester" at ... silly_elfie@hotmail.com

Sorry for the delay on this.

Have been working out the changes to the stats formulas. Figured out hunter's base Health which is 3388, base mana which is 3103, updated the Damage Reduction from armor. Before, players only needed ~16.8k armor to reach 75% damage reduction. That was easy for druids to reach in 1.x.x WoW. Now, players need 35,886 armor to reach 75% damage reduction. Ouch !

Have made corrections to the Dodge and Crit formulas. Blizzard is penalizing hunters after 2.xx. If my calculations are correct, we receive a -1.53% to our crit and -5.49% to our dodge. Have bug reported this many times on the Official bug forums but have not seen this bug fixed, acknowledged or addressed as of last night. This morning the servers are down for patch 2.0.12. Base Parry which was 5% at 60 is now only 4.96%.

With my gear in, stats match, resists match, but MAP and RAP are off. Working to figure out whats changed/wrong with the MAP and RAP formulas.

Ok fine, you make a good arguement, the link is in my sig =(

Edit: Odd, my hair on armory is purple. In the game it's blue. Why am I always the victim of glitches =/

Going to start adding people's equipment today and send out emails with the link to the download as soon as that is completed. So expect something in two to three days.

Be sure to read the email. There are certain things me know that do not work properly. If you find something that doesn't appear to be working properly, and it was not listed in the email, let me know.

Just uploaded some current screen shots of the spreadsheet.

The reddish cells for the neck slot are a visual reminder to ask if neck and waist items received enchants or sockets. Leaving those rows in will not hurt anything but removing them will make the file smaller.

Oh, since me mentioned size -- the last time me converted it to Excel format, the file was over 10 meg. Yes, TEN MEG. So, be warned, there is a monster out there and you are volunteering to test it ! (joke, *giggle* )

Well, the spreadsheet allows the user to input their race, skills, talents, equipment, enchants, gems and up to 16 buffs into different profiles. There are nine profiles but you do not need to use them all if you do not wish to. Each profile is tracked and calculated separately.

The user can rename the default profile names to something else, but the names on the tabs along the bottom of the spreadsheet do not change, sorry. The user can add in missing equipment, enchants, gems, gems and buffs. Simply scroll down to the yellow rows, rename it, add in the stats and then select that new item from the drop down lists for the appropriate slot!

So, it's possible to select skills as a Beast Master wearing GiantStalker for one profile, skills as a Marksman wearing DragonStalker as a second profile, and a Survivalist wearing RiftStalker as a third profile. The only limitation is race. You can not compare different races to each other.

Once the damage tab is back in and working, you will be able to see a prediction of the damage output for each of the profiles you created against a target type you pick with different debuffs you choose. Target types include Beasts, Dragonkin, Giants, Humanoid, other. Those are to simulate in-game types and to show what the Slaying talents can do for damage output.

Sorry for the delay. Everyone that is level 70 has had their equipment added to the spreadsheet.

Sorry Aethien and Roaran. You can still test it but do not have the base racial stats, for each race from 60 - 70.

Upload has not been done. Made a post for this on the official forums so have more profiles to look over.

The good news is that the most common items and item sets both have been entered. So only new, unusually, rare, or high end items are missing.

Addition. Recieved 2+ pages of emails for this. Each page is 20 messages. So received -far- more interest in this version and previous versions.

EDIT: Added Addition comments.

At this time, all of the gear of the testers that made it in before the cut off, has been added. Need some time to add Rows and Columns for some sets to get their set bonuses working.
