Well, I think it depends on what type of server you are on. I mean, I am on a PvP server, and I'm always on the lookout for allies trying to gank me, you know? I started off as a Frost mage though, but later switched to Fire mage. Frost has awesome crowd control, and fire has awesome damage.

Really, it's up to you. You'll kill a little slower with frost(single target) than you're used to, but the survivability spike you'll receive may be worth it. Now, since you've already invested points in fire, I'd suggest waiting on your respec until level 29. At level 29, you can get 5/5 shatter, which will speed up frost killing quite a bit.

I'd suggest something like this. Follow that with frost channeling(for reduced downtime), iceblock(for survivability while waiting on cooldowns) and cold snap(for when iceblock is down or you don't want to wait on the cooldown for frost nova). If you don't think you'll need iceblock right away(and you probably won't), grab arctic reach first before grabbing iceblock/coldsnap.
