Just level to 40 bought a horse then it says that I needed to be trained to ride it, well I went to train and guess what 80 piceses of gold to learn this skill. any other way around this?
#2 Mar 30 2007 at 7:25 PM Rating: Good
no, you gonna pony up the dough to learn to ride.

Just wait til you get to lvl 60.

Here's how it works. You pay chump change in gold for the Mount, or you can PvP for your mount. The riding skill is a pain in the **** and is outrageously expsensive. I payed 540g for my Epic Riding skill. I'm working on my Flying Mount right now, and thats 800g for the skill and 100g for the mount. SO...I Hope you learn how to farm for gold. =)

pfeeeh flying mount is only like 800g it's nothing
epic flying mount is 5200g... that's hard

WHOLY BATWINGS YOU MEAN THIS COULD COST HOW MUCH! think I'll walk/run
#6 Mar 31 2007 at 2:59 PM Rating: Decent
Its expensive. But trust me! Once you have a mount you will never walk again :) its soooo convenient and 60% speed increase is a lot!

Wow txxxc, that must have been the lamest answer ever: Walk/running.

Walking: 100% speed
Flying: 260% speed + fly over mountains

BUY A FREAKING MOUNT. I had over 175g on my 32 warrior, I think you can scrounge up a measly 20g to learn it and 80g to buy the mount. 100g is nothing in the long run, most likely less than a part of an epic set or something.

Actually the mount speeds are like this :

Ground Mounts :

First Mount you can get : Epic Turtle you can get this one only from TCG and you have to be level 20 to ride it. It costs 0 gold it requires 0 riding skill. It gives 0% increased movement speed (you move at 100% of normal speed)

Level 40 Mount : Riding skill (75) costs 90g. Mount costs 10g. It increases your movement speed by 60% (you move at 160% of normal speed). Also, if you are honored, you get a 10% discount, leaving the cost for the mount and riding skill at 81+9 = 90g.

Level 60 Mount : Riding skill (150) costs 600g. Mount costs 100g (you can also buy the mount with 30 AB, 30 AV and 30 WSG Marks). It increases your movement speed by 100% (you move at 200% of normal speed). If honored, you pay 540g riding skill and 90g mount, leaving your pay check at : 540+90 = 650g. (or 540g + Marks of Honor).

Flying Mounts :

Level 70 First Flying Mount : Riding skill (225) costs 800g. Mount costs 100g. It increases your movement speed by 60% (that includes ground speed, meaning that yes, you move faster on ground with level 60 ground mount than with the first flying mount; you move at 160% of normal speed, but you can fly). If honored, it leaves costs at : 720+90g = 810g.

Level 70 Swift Flying Mount : Riding skill (300) costs 5000g. Mount costs 200g. It increases your movement speed by 280% (you move at 380% of normal speed). If honored you pay 4500+180 = 4680g.

You have to learn the 225 Riding Skill in order to be able to learn 300 Riding Skill.

If we are to make a total for you riding pleasure :

90g + 650g + 810g + 4680g = 6230 g

You can diminish your costs by not buying Epic Ground Mount with gold, but with Marks, and not buy first flying mount, just the riding skill, leaving you to pay :
6230-90-90 = 6050g

That's a lot of cash ...

Also , if you get a Riding Crop, you get get to move with ony 10% slower than the Taxi Flight (Wind Rider Master, etc)

When you are 70 and you complete quests in the outlands, you acquire a sick amount of gold; when compared to pre-60 quests. 12-25 G a quest turn in.

While your grey trash items sell for a G often.

Farm farm farm farm.

1000G from 60-70 is not too difficult, the total combined quest chains in Nagrand alone are around 400 G pre-70.
