Need tips on Decursing in instancesFollow

#1 Mar 30 2007 at 10:59 PM Rating: Decent
Hi all;

I have a lvl 60 druid and respeced Resto. Last night I had a hell of a time determining who was cursed under the standard interface and wiped twice because I couldn't decurse.

Any tips would be appreciated

I believe they fixed decursive(not to exactly what it was, but similar).

I personally use SmartBuff's SmartDebuff feature.

best advice i can give is experience. learn what the border of curses look like (i think its purple....each debuff has its own unique border coloring) and keep an eye out for those borders on you or your allies and decurse accordingly.

alternatively, you could get some kind of party frames, such as Xperl, and customize it so that debuffs that you can remove are displayed more prominently. this is especially useful in raid situations or large scale pvp.

When people have a purple debuff square under their name (party) or next to their name (Raid bar) that's when you decurse. Not hard.

I highly recommend the X-Perl Unit Frames add-on. Instead of the the little icon below the player's bars, the player's entire frame is highlighted a different color depending on the debuff (one color for magic debuffs, one color for curses, etc.). You can customize the colors displayed for each kind of debuff. In addition, you can set X-Perl to only show you the debuffs that you can decurse. This add-on is great all around, but I've found it specifically very useful for this purpose.

Good luck!

I personally use the Grid and Clique mods in conjunction to get an ideal healer interface. You can set grid up to show a certain border when someone has a curse or is poisoned, and you can do a button-mouse click combination on their square in the grid to quickly remove the debuff. This makes it easy to cross party heal and get rid of debuffs even in the world of 40 man raids.
