New Lvl 70 Spell Idea.Follow

#1 Mar 31 2007 at 9:52 AM Rating: Default
Hey everyone, I'm posting my opinion on a new Lvl 70 spell for each class in their own forum, maybe some of you guys can edit my idea or make your own. Anyways, I'll send this forum to blizz via e-mail, maybe they'll suggest and accept some of the new ideas.

Since I am a pally myself, I have 2 ideas for spells for paladins. Both have the same name, but different meanings.

The Ultimate Sacrifice-

The Paladin Sacrifices himself to Heal all of his Party members by 100%

30 minute recast.

The Ultimate Sacrifice-

The Paladin Sacrifices himself to encase all of his party members by a Divine Sheild (bubble) for 30 seconds.

SIDE EFFECT: The Paladin cannot be Resurrected for one minute. ( To prevent Druids from simply battle rezzing the Paladin after he sacrifices himself.)

I did not add a solo spell because at 70 you don't really solo anymore.

Do Paladins get any kind of transformation spell?

I always thought maybe the Mountain King's Avatar ultimate spell would
be nice to have, to become an unstoppable juggernaut for a few moments

To the OP: That second one you mentioned would be like a kind of mass Divine Intervention right? And 30 seconds seems a bit long, I mean the party'd be healed
up and ready to go in no time, then probably just stand around waitin for the shield to expire.

I thought it would be a good idea, the second one, because like let's say if you are about to wipe in a raid or instance, the paladin sacrifices himself so everyone else can stay alive. But that's basically what these two are for, to be the 'protector' of the group.

I like those ideas, but I don't see them happening anytime soon.

I have always wished that there was one spell like Exorcism that Paladins could use on all mobs. This way in instances where we stay back and heal, we can throw some damage every now and then. Of course I don't see this happening soon either. :)

Lol can you say cheapness? I think the ultimate sacrifice was a good idea except it should be changed into the following:

Cost: Kills the paladin but he must have over 50% health
Description: Encases all the party members in a bubble for 10 seconds
Cooldown: 1 hour

30 seconds now is WAY to cheap. Pretend you PvPing against another class, if they were bubbled for 30 seconds, that would be enough to kill you without being touched.

Lol Ok so you die once while everyone is encased in the bubble. When's it going to happen again? 30 minutes. Also I doubt a Pally would spam this move.

read the above note: cooldown is 60 minutes, meaning the pally can only activate it once every hour

If your party is doing so badly they all need bubbling, just sacrafice yourself yourself to bubble the priest, and when everyone dies the priest just resurects everyone.

All your new level 70 spell would do is save a little bit of time when the party is wiping...

my idea:

Lvl 70 spell: Mercy of the Gods.

when activated this makes all pallies immune to being nerfed by the Gods. spell lasts until pally becomes "Overpowered" and can only be dispelled by the Gods. no cooldown.

this spell would prevent such afflictions as the "forbearance nerf" and further dps handicaps.

point is, they wont buff pallies until they are finished nerfing them. maybe you'll have an easier time suggesting pvp bumps for warlocks, hunters, and shammies.

What about this?:

Holy Cow - "The Paladin summons a Divine Bovine that will fight for 1 minute or until killed. 10 Minute CD."

The sacrifice idea is neat, but it should be a divine intervention-type bubble on all players instead of a regular bubble.

Good idea, but I'd much rather see:

Holy Hand Grenade - range 8 - 20 yards. Throws a grenade that sings and explodes, cuasing 1500 holy damage to all enemies in 10 yard radius. Cost 800 mana, 10 min cooldown.

Halleluiah.

Just so long as it isn't a 3 second cast or it'll never happen :-P

1, 2, 4!

It's actually 1, 2, 5 (no, 3, Sire. 3!). :P

@ tommyguns I like this power!

Or:
"Anytime other classes gains new benefits, such as in an expansion (BC), the paladin gains similar benefits to counter balance the new powers (may just more fun) gained by the other classes."

As for the OP power, this power is almost the talent of the priest where he still can heal for a few seconds althought he is already dead. Don't remember now how it is called. You duplicate the priest talent.

Just being picky here, the Mountain King was specifacly a warrior :P. Also we kinda have an avatar-ish spell, though im not recalling the name of it. Causes Foreberance, increased dmg by 30%. I do relize it doesnt give more health, or make us look cooler.

Paladin spells are fine btw, anything else they give us now is just gravy on top. The only thing we really are missing is a ranged attack, but blizz did say that classes weren't equal against each other.

The Mountain King was specifically a warrior, but now paladins may be dwarves... also the stun of the paladin yet known in World of Warcraft (Hammer of Justice) is very Mountain King-ish. And not even really paladinesque. The Mountain King of Warcrat III is already in the WoW Paladin class. (see also ->Blessing of Kings, former 31 points retribution talent)

Too bad it doesn't do the insane amount of damage it did back in warcraft 3 :(

I suppose for my level 70 spell idea, i say we make that stun do alittle bit of damage.

i have another idea.

holy knight

turns the paladin into a holy knight increasing damage and the amount healed by all healing spells. can only use holy and your choice of retribution OR protection spells.
