In instances im pulling aggro off the tank after he's pulled and made a few good hits on the target... EXAMPLE--- tank pulls and start to fight.. I start to cast a fireball or arcane missles after tank pulls and scores a couple of hits... Said target leaves tank and comes after me after i hit it 1 time.... Is there anything i can do to geet from stealing aggro from ppl without not attacking or taking all the aggro?? This has got a couple of ppl mad at me in my last run threw WC.
Thanks in advance fo any advise or suggestions.
Look for a debuff on the enemy called "Sunder Armor" when you're in a group tanked by a warrior. When this stacks to 3, then you're ready to begin attacking. If you crit, pull back on your damage a bit. Either cast a scorch or count to two before your next attack.
Also, make sure you get the talent Burning Soul at the earliest possible time convenient. This will help you keep from pulling aggro too often. In addition, consider getting Arcane Subtlety. When you crit with your fireballs, instead of casting another fire spell, switch over and cast an arcane spell(arcane missiles). They'll do a decent amount of damage, but with a lot less threat for the damage. The big problem with them is the mana cost per point of damage, so I'd recommend using them only after crits to keep from pulling aggro.
In addition, if you're ever in a group with a Paladin, there's this incredibly awesome buff they can give you called Blessing of Salvation. Beg for it...on your knees if need be.

Second I wanted to ask if any of you out there have any advise for how to play a mage and be liked in groups?
Remember this: The sheep is your first priority. If it comes out, then you must drop whatever you were doing and resheep. If it comes out too often, you aren't refreshing it often enough. I usually toss a resheep every 4 spells or so just to be safe.
If you watch the sheep and are careful to not pull aggro while still doing reasonable damage, then you're well on your way to being a well liked mage in groups.
There are some more advanced things you'll learn later, but this is a good beginning.
