I have been somewhat following this build suggestion below. Except when I hit level 31 I stayed in the fire tree. So I am at level 40 and just trained/learned Combustion. Am I missing out on the arcane talents? Should I just stay in the fire tree and train Molten Fury or Pyromaniac next?
Thanks for any advice you may have.

Fire Grinding (Levels 10 to 31): Fire 0/22/0
5/5 Improved Fireball
5/5 Ignite
1/1 Pyroblast
2/2 Flame Throwing
2/2 Incinerate
3/3 Improved Scorch
2/3 Master of Elements
1/1 Blastwave
+1 Master of Elements

Fire Grinding (Levels 31 to 41): Fire/Arcane 10/22/0

2/2 Arcane Subtlety
3/5 Arcane Focus
5/5 Arcane Concentration

Fire Grinding (Levels 41 to 60): Fire/Arcane 10/41/0

3/3 Critical Mass
5/5 Fire Power
1/1 Combustion
3/3 Pyromaniac
1/2 Molten Fury
5/5 Empowered Fireball
1/1 Dragon's Breath

It depends whether you experience two things
1) facing spell resists often enough for it to be noticeable.
2) often running oom faster than you'd expect you should.

The 10 points in Arcane are just for that.
Arcane Subtlety is there to reduce enemy's chance to resist your spell
Arcane Focus is mainly there to dump the 3 points and be able to get:
Arcane Concentration - 10% chance to have your next spell cast for free.

AS helps with 1)
AC helps with 2)

If you're so twinked and have so much mana you never see it drop down to a three digit number, then you don't really need the Arc. Conc.
If the resists that happen now and then don't bother you at all - you'll be much happier with pyromaniac and the rest of the fire tree.

It's all just for yer convenience.

Couldn't be more wrong. AS makes your opponent 40% less likely to resist ARCANE spells.

Odds are, you are gonna run out of things you want out of fire, I would recommend 3 into frost for the lowered resists, or move 10 or more into Arcane, picking up Clearcasting on the way.

Actually, Arcane Subtlety reduces threat on arcane spells by 40%. The -10 resist affects all spell schools.

I didn't mention the arcane spell threat reduction, because hmm... come on, he's a deep fire, isn't he? Will he be using arcane for damage? Don't think so.
So that part of the talent doesn't really matter.

When you're in an instance, and want to keep on nuking and you're catching up to the tank in threat, arcane missiles can be great with that 40% threat reduction because you can continue doing damage and not risk passing the tank in threat/aggro generation, so yes... it does matter.
