As a player with a warlock main and a warrior alt, I understand and laugh at your problem. A warriors only choice is to get in close, break all fear effects and stun-lock/ interrupt him/her. Playing undead with thier natural racial is helpful, or get trinkets. As long as a warlock can keep you at spells distance you will never be able to take them out.

Having a lock for an alt, the best way to fight them is to be ready to break fear. Trinkets or zerker rage, and if undead.. WoTF. Other than that, it depends on what spec they are.. affliction locks will DOT you up heavily, while desto locks will try and nuke you to death.

Hope this helps..

get deathwish its immunity to fear for 30 secs and + 20% dmg, and if you can't kill them with deathwish recklessness next it is also immunity to fear and makes all sucessful melee hits crits.

Same thing I say to most class comparisons: Go arms.
Warriors don't get that many chances to hit, so you have to make use of MS and a slow weapon. You won't be able to poke at them all day like fury requires.

I hit berz rage and when they realize fear doesn't work, you're going to get death coiled. Thats fine, gives you distance for intercept. Try to pummel when 10 seconds is up from berz and you're expecting a fear; their hands will be glowing blackish purple, as with many shadow spells.

Helpful tip with the fear casting. Go to your interface options and select the box that is labeled something about showing enemy cast bars(can't remember the exact wording) under their portraits. Whenever any hostile starts casting anything, it will show what spell and the cast bar under their portrait as long as you have them as your target. This gives you a headstart on what to expect and I find it is extremely helpful when fighting casters.

Fear breaking and intercepting+pummel makes warlocks easy for me. Only thing that spells certain death for me at the hands of a lock is a Succubus. :(

Just remember to pummel their shadow spell, whatever it may be. Should leave them with immolate, and that alone wont kill you. If you're feeling extra fancy, switch to defensive stance and shield bash (put your shield on an interface button) should your pummel be on cooldown and they're casting some shadowy pain. But the key is, just like when you're fighting any other caster, is intercept+hamstring. Keep them in range, and destroy them

Im speaking as a fury warrior btw, so Im basing this on the assumption that you have a berzerker rage and a deathwish to dispell fear.

I believe pummel and shield bash are on the same cooldown. At least, they used to be.

I have found on most occasions when fighting a warlock at a similar gear level to me - it's not that i can't kill him, it's trying to get out of combat quick enough afterwards to sit down and eat something before all the stupid DoTs get me.

vs a lock with his succy out (usually means destruction spec too, so burst spec with lots of crits and instant casts) then you're screwed. gl, reroll or hope like hell that the lock is dumb.

Can you spell reflect a fear? That would be truely hillarious...

Edit: Fixed grammar

yes you can, also if a lock tries to burst you with an instant cast after casting a spell that has to travel (Shadow bolt, deathcoil, incinerate) while spell reflect is up, both get reflected ^^ hehe it's quite funny. sadly though a good lock will use the spell reflect to their advantage and put rank.1 "Curse of recklessness" on themselves. makes them immune to fear and horror effects, but not the 'fear/root' effect of intimidating shout (don't know if it works on the running around fear part of it though, i've yet to test it but i believe that CoRec would stop that effect).

your best chance vs a lock is to use spell reflect and hope like hell that the lock crits themselves, they can put up their shadow ward as the spell is flying back at them to mitigate some of the damage though (tested it myself)

You act as if warlocks=death to warriors. most warlocks only rolled the class because everyone complained about how OP it was and never bothered to learn their class(just like rogues). As long as you stay on top of your pummels and fear breakers, you should be fine. I can't remember so someone can verify this but if shield bash is on a separate CD than pummel a macro for quick swap+def stance+shield bash can be set up to completely ruin any caster's **** if you are still having problems. Just remember to have a separate macro(or the same one if you want) that will let you swap back to whatever big damaging weapon(s) you were using.

Learning to use everything in your ******* is key to getting the most out of your class. Not having to use it all is just a benefit of experience.
