What trinket is the best choice for a feral druid ? Plz helpFollow

Greatings everybody :)

I'm a feral druid, level 62 (template 41 in feral with mangle, and 12 others points in restau), and i've just finished the quest "Overlord" in the hellfire peninsula (kill Arazzius).

For reward, i have the choice between 2 interesting trinkets for my character:

- Regal Protectorate
Equip: Increases defense rating by +26 (11.0@70)
Use: Increases maximum health by 900 for 15 sec.
Cooldown: 5 min

- Bladefist's Breadth
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 26 (1.2%@70).
Use: Increases attack power by 200 for 15 sec.

I hesitate a lot (first time in the game), between these two items. I spend most of the time in feline form when i do my quests, or pvp, but i also use a lot the bear when it becomes too dangerous, and of course for tanking in instances.

So what trinket do you advise me to take ? I need to know if, for exemple, similar and better trinkets than Bladefist's or Regalis are available later in draenor, or if the effects of regal protectorate is important, etc.

Thanks for your help ^^

I chose Bladefist's Breadth, but looking back I regret not taking Regal Protectorate instead.

Bladefist's Breadth is great for questing, but several other quests gives you trinkets, which help your attack power.

Now as I'm at level 70 and tanking in lvl 70 instances, I have to gather 156 defense points in order to become crit immune (I think it is 156, but it's from my memory, so maybe it's slightly off). Considering this, the Regal Protectorate trinket would have helped quite a bit here, and the use-ability of extra health could help give the healer that extra second to finish his or her greater heal, when things get tough.

Is there other ways to get that extra health and the needed defense - yes, there is, and it is far from impossible. However looking back, I would still have chosen differently in order to become a better tank faster.

Edit: spelling

Thank for your answer :)

So i'm in front of a dilema. I'm just level 62, i need to level up and to do a lot of quests, so a little boost in feline, the form that i use the most for the moment, is interesting, furthemore, the cooldown of the AP bonus is just 1 min and half.

But in the other hand, it seems that trinkets with defensive bonus are, correct me if i'm wrong, a little bit more difficult to have than AP ones, and are very usefull to reach 410 (i think it's that, with the survival of the fittest bonus) in defense and avoid critical hits...

I'm still hesitating lol.

honestly, i went with vengeance of the illidari.

as noted, there are loads of ap/crit trinkets out there. and besides, as a feral druid, your crit rate isnt exactly going to be hurting. 16% is the base minimum for a feral druid thanks to a heap of talents and always-maxed feral combat skill, and nabbing another 4-5% from crit rating and agility isnt hard to do. its for that reason and that reason alone i didnt take bladefists breadth. compounded with the incredible amount of +ap and +crit trinkets that the game still has waiting for you, and it was kind of a no-brainer for me.

i was a bit torn on whether regal protectorate would be better than the vengeance, but i figured a good +spell crit trinket with a nice on use effect was worth more in the long run, since defense is never really a druid stat, even in small quantities (id rather have resilience, since some good feral tank gear happens to also be pvp gear).

try this trinket.
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=27920&locale=enUS;source=live
and mix it with swipe for tanking trash mobs. though I'd say mix it with http://wow.allakhazam.com/item.html?witem=28034 for a high tank ability for trash.

if I remember correctly, there is a talent where every crit will heal you for x seconds. (on a x second coodown) so higher speed and higher attack means you hit more times for the crit to proc while increasing the number of times for the first trinket to proc.

pps the old trinkets also work well sometimes. (aq anyone?)

Thanks for your answers :)

The third reward, vengeance of the illidari, seems to be good but it's really not my "field", i heal and i use spells of course, but very rarely as a feral...You mean that there are not better trinket available later, if i want to respec to restauration later ?

Addermine > Thanks for these interesting links. Unfortunately, a lot of the items that you propose to me are reachable trough making old raids like Zul Gurub, and in my server, it's pretty rare that groups forms themselves to do them...

I'd base your decision on which reward you took for Gen. Drakkisath's Demise (alli). I took the Blackhand's Breadth, and the logical matching trinket would be the Bladefist's Breadth, which I took as well.

If you are mainly feral, think about your improved leader of the pack talent. Every crit will heal you for 4% of your hp, so massive crit rating can help alot. I currently use the Bladefist's Breadth and : http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=28034&locale=enUS;source=live

For tanking, obviously, defense is better. But for grinding, dps'ing, and pretty much everything solo, that crit can mean alot for your outgoing damage and incomming heals (LoTP heals). Because of trinkets like this, I can still be an effective dps'er in high-end instances, as well as switching to tanking trinkets to be the MT.

These people are correct when they say that there are more offensive trinkets in the game than defensive, but finding a good set of tanking trinkets is NOT that hard to do. Dps-role is way more fun anyways.

Just a thought..

- Bladefist's Breadth

I was told by a 70 guildmate to just take that and make leveling to 70 easier.

He said there are more trinkets available higher up - and not to worry about missing out on the tanking or healing one - hope he was right!
