Which class do you personally consider to be better for a priest, and why? I am making a horde priest, and am wondering which class is more suited for the job. I'll mainly be doing solo grinding / 5 man instances, and PvP later on.
They both have their merits. But I can't decide :S

Undead are definitely best for PvP, with WotF and Devouring Plague. Both of those have limited use in 5-mans and raids (WotF being better for healing if you get feared, Plague better for a shadow priest for some extra damage). Cannibalize helps downtime a bit in both PvE and PvP.
The elves (while I don't have one) appear to be better for PvE. The extra silence is good everywhere (PvP, soloing, 5-man trash) and the two abilities for extra mana are also excellent for 5-mans and raids, especially for a shadow priest who struggles with mana.
Personally, as an endgame shadow priest, I wish I could trade my undead for a blood elf. For PvP or casual play, I think Undead are probably the way to go. Like you said, though, it's really close.

Thanks for the feedback, I might go UD simply because I don't want to jump on the BE bandwagon. Horde is losing their PvP rep because of BE pallies :S

the only time the racials came to play with me was for some rp and feeling XD undead shadow priest (troll was pretty cool too) my lowbie Blood elf is Despiline -shrugs- it just seems to fit ^^
Undead simply because I'm guilty of beginning too many sentences with "LOL" and the BE laugh makes me want to punch myself in temple.
Anyhow my advice for all of these questions is just to pick the race you like the look of best.

im an UD priest, wotf is so friggin sweet, DP is insane shadow dmg = insane healing from VE. touch of weakness is lame but easy shadow dmg.....though ive never played a BE, i really think they are the fotm with BC just coming out. lame dance, lame racials, pink flamingo mounts and the guys look like chicks. there i said it. ^-^
touch of weakness is great, procs All those shadow goodies, hurts them a tiny bit AND it makes them do less damage to you :3
Undead because I'd shoot myself if I had to ride a chocobo everywhere.
