Does anyone know how Defensive stance actually effects threat generation?

For example, the tool tip says "Decreases damage taken from all sources by 10%. Decreases damage caused by 10%. Increases threat generated by 30%."

So with that basis there are two options for threat dealt;

example:

I attack for a base of 100, DS decreases that damage by 10% and increases threat by 30%, so

100*0.90*1.30=117 threat,

or

100*0.90=90 damage, and 100*1.30=130 threat

Note that I do not currently use a threat meter with my Warrior, is there a superior one, or does it not matter much?

KLH Threat Meter shows your threat and the threat of other people in your party/raid. Even if you don't look at it, you're helping other people that run it too. It's useless for them if you're not running it.

It's 130% of the actual damage dealt. So if your hit is normally 100, then you deal 90 damage and cause 117 threat.

Note that most tanking abilities have a static threat unrelated to damage. They do not get the 10% damage nerf, but they do get the threat bonus.

Battle and Berserker stance provide a 20% aggro reduction.

Thanks, ThelsDeKwant
On this same topic, how does the added threat from Devastate work, on a per Sunder basis?

P.S. Getting KLH now.
