I am lvl 57 now getting ready to go into Outlands and was wondering if I should waste my time and money to try to get better gear now or just wait until I go thru the portal. My gear is not bad(but not great)the only thing I'm really concerned about is my bow. Right now I have Quillfire Bow of the Falcon which is a lvl 50 bow. I have not done a whole lot of instances(ST and Mara. being the highest)and there is hardly any good ranged weapons on AH. Was considering buying Eaglehorn Long Bow for 25g. Everyone says that Outlands gear is great but how soon will I start seeing it? Thanks.

wait for outlands gear. very good gear. and in fact, one of the first quests you'll get the ironstar repeater, which is a crossbow. and you'll get more quest rewards along the way in hellfire peninsula.

Trust me on this, DO NOT waste your money on any gear. The best advice for you would be to buddy up with a similar level'd toon in your guild and just tag team the stuff in Hellfire. I just made it in Naggrand (sp), and I cannot begine to tell you how many times I have swapped gear since I first made it to Hellfire. Save your money for your epic mount, it will help out a ton there, since everyone hits so much harder and can knock you off your mount easier when you are slower. If I were you I would just use quest rewards and the leatherworking fell gear with tons of AP. Once you get to 63 (if I am not mistaken), run Bloodfurnace and a nice gun drops from one of the bosses. Seriously, as far as the gear there, you will be amazed at the amount of stuff that drops up there. The drope rate HAS to be higher than Azeroth by far. You will change gear as often as you do underwear until you (or me for that matter) make it to Karazahn. Hope that helps man....Just to for some usefull info, my AP went from some crappy 700 number to 1300 in 2 weeks up there...

Save your gold. Most of the quests in the starting area will replace your gear piece by piece.

While you're in Hellfire doing other quests, keep doing the PvP quest to capture the three PvP locations (very easy). You'll get 3 marks for each time you turn over the three. By getting 15 PvP marks, you can then go into Zangermarsh and get this really nice bow - the Splintermark

I've been using the Bloodseeker since first getting it in AV and this is the first bow that I've thought was better.

Yeah, the quest is easy if your Ally...a bit tougher for Horde on my server. Ally just sit there and camp, and since there is a ratio of about 10,000 to 4,000 it is considerably tougher. There is also a good bow quest reward to the west of Hellfire, not sure which one it is, but it is very good. I still like the gun that drops off one of the bosses in Bloodfurnace. In either case, there is way better stuff just from questing up there. Still working on Thrallmar rep to get exaulted...you know why!

the bow from thrall is awesome indeed. I won't replace it till I get the arena crossbow I don't believe. a tip on that is to run a bunch of ramparts and furnace till you cap your rep and then do the quests. the quests will still give rep when the instances will not. if you do it in that order, you'll find that you are fairly close and won't have to work all that hard on exalted.

I wish I had thought of that beforehand so that I didn't have to run a ton of heroics and SH.
